Quien [Without an Accent]
Quien means who.
It is a relative pronoun.
The plural form of quien is quienes.
Here are some examples:
Mi ex novio, quien era dueño de una empresa de informática, se ha mudado a Los Angeles.
My ex-boyfriend, who owned a computer company, has moved to Los Angeles.
Ese chico, con quien hablamos en la fiesta del sábado, ha enviado un mensaje a Laura.
That boy, who we talked to at the party on Saturday, has sent a message to Laura.
Quien algo quiere, algo le cuesta.
Whoever wants something has to give something back.
Mis padres, quienes llevan juntos desde la adolescencia, van a celebrar sus bodas de oro.
My parents, who have been together since they were teenagers, are celebrating their golden wedding anniversary.
Siempre se recompensa a quienes se esfuerzan.
Those who make an effort are always rewarded.
Quién [With an Acccent]
Quién means who.
You use quién in direct and indirect questions.
The plural form of quién is quiénes.
Here are some examples:
No se quién me dio ese consejo, pero es un buen consejo.
I don’t know who gave me that advice, but it’s good advice.
No entiendo quién ha podido hacernos esto.
I don’t understand who could have done this to us.
¿Quién se ofrece para ir a comprar más hielo?

Quien vs Quién
A useful trick that you can use if you are ever in doubt is to see if you can replace “who” with “which person”.
If you can do so, then you have to use quién [with an accent].
If you cannot, then you have to use quien [without an accent].
¿Quién necesita tanto dinero?
Who needs so much money?
Quien intenta quedar bien con todos, termina solo.
Who tries to get along with everyone ends up alone.
