Layout[edit | edit source]

The building contains a bank chest and two cooking ranges. The bank chest is next to a water source.

Getting there[edit | edit source]

The fastest teleportation to the kitchen is by using Kharedst's memoirs' Lunch by the lancalliums teleport (11s), requiring completion of The Depths of Despair; alternatively you can teleport via the Xeric's talisman to Glade then run north-west (33s), or to the centre of Kourend and run south-east.

Training[edit | edit source]

The cooking ranges requires completion of the easy Kourend & Kebos Diary in order to use, and provides an additive 5% increased chance of successfully cooking food over standard cooking ranges. This is increased to 10% with completion of the elite Kourend & Kebos Diary.

The buff is additive, meaning that if your chance to successfully cook a piece of food is 80% on a regular range, the chance of successfully cooking it on the Hosidius range would be roughly 85% without the elite diary and roughly 90% with the elite diary. The increase is not exact as the buff works by an increase to the low and high values that are used in the skilling success function for each type of food.

Changes[edit | edit source]

DateChanges
10January2024
(update|poll)

As Kourend Favour has been removed, using the ranges now requires completion of the easy Kourend & Kebos Diary.

10January2019
(update)

A bug regarding burning food was apparently fixed.[1]

13September2018
(update)

After this update, burn chance appeared to stack on itself with each additional cooking attempt. If players restarted the cooking process, it reset the burn rate. This meant that the first piece had a normal burn rate, and each subsequent piece was lower than the previous until they stopped burning altogether. This was used to burn significantly fewer pieces of food than intended.[confirmation needed]
