It's tool time! Whether you were a DIYer or not, it was hard not to love Tim Allen's handyman character and his all-American family on the hit TV series "Home Improvement," which aired on ABC from 1991 to 1999.

Following the domestic violence-related arrest of one of the show's main cast members in July 2023, Wonderwall.com is checking in to find out what happened and report back on what he and the other stars of the series are up to (and look like) today. We'll start with this now troubled star …

Zachery Ty Bryan starred on "Home Improvement" as the eldest son Brad Taylor, the jock of the family.

Zachery Ty Bryan and model Johnnie Faye — to whom he got engaged in 2021 — had a daughter in 2022 and welcomed twins in 2023. The actor also shares four children with ex-wife Carly Matros. He shifted from acting to the production side in Hollywood: He's worked on horror films like "Prowl" and "The Grief Tourist." He also produced the 2018 documentary "BIT X BIT: In Bitcoin We Trust."

In 2020, Zachery faced charges including felony strangulation, fourth-degree assault and interfering with making a police report, which TMZ reported resulted in his pleading guilty to two lesser charges — misdemeanor menacing and misdemeanor assault — and scoring three years of probation. In 2023, he told The Hollywood Reporter that the incident "got so blown out of proportion" by the media and claimed Johnnie, whom he admitted he'd been seeing while he was still married to Carly, would get upset over his "double life."(Zachery is seen here in his mugshot after being booked in Eugene, Oregon, in 2020.)

In 2023, he faced another domestic violence arrest: Oregon's Eugene Police Department confirmed to TMZ that the actor-producer was put in jail on July 28 for alleged felony assault in violation of the Abuse Prevention Act, which the webloid explained relates to an accusation of attacking someone who'd previously been granted a restraining order in relation to domestic violence.

Tim Allen starred on "Home Improvement" as Tim Taylor, who juggled life as a husband and father of three with his job as the host of a home improvement show called "Tool Time."

_

Tim Allen clearly has a thing for family TV shows — a decade after "Home Improvement," he starred on "Last Man Standing," which originally aired on ABC and later moved to FOX, from 2011 until 2021. He's also voiced the character of Buzz Lightyear in the "Toy Story" film franchise. And more recently, he reprised his role as Santa Clause on the Disney+ series "The Santa Clauses." Tim's been married to Jane Hajduk since 2006. He has two daughters — one with Jane and one with his first wife. The comedian has stayed out of trouble since going to rehab after a 1997 DUI arrest and doing jail time in the '80s for a drug-trafficking offense.

Patricia Richardson starred on "Home Improvement" as Tim Taylor's wife, Jill, who kept the whole family in check.

_

Patricia Richardson's acting career has cooled off some in recent years, though she made a guest appearance on her "Home Improvement" co-star Tim Allen's show "Last Man Standing" in 2015. She had a great run on the TV series "Strong Medicine" from 2002 to 2005, plus a recurring role on "The West Wing" in 2006. She more recently has popped up as a guest star on shows like "Grey's Anatomy," "The Blacklist" and "NCIS." And in 2023, she appeared in the film "County Line: No Fear." The star has three grown kiddos from her marriage to Ray Baker, which ended in 1995.

_

Jonathan Taylor Thomas starred on "Home Improvement" as middle child Randy Taylor, who always found himself in some sort of trouble.

_

Since his days as a teen heartthrob in the '90s, Jonathan Taylor Thomas's acting career has slowed considerably. Similar to Patricia Richardson, he made a few guest appearances on Tim Allen's show "Last Man Standing." He's also appeared on other series like "Smallville" and "Veronica Mars" and was the voice of Simba in the 1994 film "The Lion King." But the former teen dream (seen here in 2013) — who took time off from acting to attend Harvard University and eventually complete his degree at Columbia University in 2010 — has stayed out of the spotlight for the most part, especially when it comes to his personal life.

Taran Noah Smith starred on "Home Improvement" as youngest son Mark Taylor, who often felt picked on by his older brothers.

_

Taran Noah Smith might have quit acting, but his mother released a book about his experience in the spotlight, "Stardom Happens," in 2015. The former actor had a falling out with his family over money following his days on "Home Improvement," but they've since reconciled. Another reason for the rift? At around 17, he fell in love with and married Heidi Van Pelt, a woman almost twice his age. The couple divorced in 2007 after opening a Los Angeles vegan restaurant, which has since closed. According to LinkedIn, he currently works for SpaceX as an integration technician.

Pamela Anderson starred on "Home Improvement" as Lisa, the original tool girl on "Tool Time."

_

Pamela Anderson left "Home Improvement" to play a lifeguard on "Baywatch" in 1992. But after five years, she ditched her iconic red bathing suit to play the lead on her own series, "V.I.P.," for a few seasons. The Playboy Playmate has since taken on small roles here and there, though she's probably more famous for her wild personal life. Recall her and then-husband Tommy Lee's leaked sex tape in 1995? She and the rocker divorced in 1998 after having two sons. Pam went on to marry and divorce Kid Rock in 2006. She also wed professional poker player Rick Salomon in 2007, but they divorced a year later — then remarried in 2014 and got divorced yet again in 2015. She then wed producer Jon Peters in 2020, though that union only lasted a few days — and the legal paperwork was never filed. Then in December 2020, she married her bodyguard, Dan Hayhurst, but that marriage ended in January 2022.

The devoted vegan and animal-rights activist tried her hand at reality TV, competing on "Dancing With the Stars" in 2010, the French version of "DWTS" in 2018, and on a handful of episodes of son Brandon Thomas Lee's reality show, "The Hills: New Beginnings," in 2019. She made her Broadway debut as Roxie Hart in "Chicago" in 2022 and more recently made waves with her 2023 Netflix documentary, "Pamela, a Love Story," and 2023 memoir, "Love, Pamela."

Richard Karn starred on "Home Improvement" as knowledgeable Al Borland, Tim Taylor's friend and sidekick on "Tool Time." If you recall, he often ended up being the subject of Tim's jokes…

_

Following "Home Improvement," Richard Karm took up hosting game shows. First, he landed a gig on "Family Feud" from 2002 to 2006. Then came a job on "Bingo America" in 2008. He's also continued to act, appearing on "Last Man Standing," "Detroiters," "The Bold and the Beautiful" and, more recently, the Hulu series "PEN15." He's been married to Tudi Roche since 1985. Son Cooper Karn Wilson is an actor too.

_

Debbe Dunning starred on "Home Improvement" as Heidi Keppert, Pamela Anderson's "Tool Time" tool girl replacement after season 2.

_

Debbe Dunning hasn't spent much time in front of the camera in recent years. She acted on the TV show "Wicked Wicked Games" back in 2006 and more recently hosted her own travel series, "Debbe Dunning's Dude Ranch Roundup," on RFD-TV. The brunette has found more success in her family life: She has three children with volleyball player Steve Timmons, whom she wed in 2007. The couple split in 2018.
