CROWLEY - Funeral services for Nolan Joseph Guillot, 81, of Crowley will be held at 11 a.m. Tuesday, Jan. 25, 2005, at Immaculate Heart of Mary Catholic Church in Crowley. Mr. Guillot died at 9:33 a.m. Saturday, Jan. 22, 2005, at his residence after a brief illness.Mr. Guillot was the son of the late Louis and Alice Legnion Guillot. The oldest of seven children, he grew up on a farm in the Lyons Point community. Educated in the Acadia Parish school system, he attended business school under the G.I. Bill.A veteran of World War II, he enlisted in the United States Army Air Corps and served from Dec. 1, 1942, until his discharge on Oct. 23, 1945. He saw duty in the United States, England and France with the 384th Bomb Group (H), 8th Air Force. He was stationed at Air Base 106 Grafton underwood for most of his tour.His first experience in agribusiness was with Louisiana Irrigation and Mill Company, working there from 1939 until 1942 and again from 1946 until 1952. He was manager of Crowley Warehouse from 1952 until 1967 and co-owner and president of G & H Seed Company from 1967 until 1971.In 1971 he former Nolan J. Guillot, Inc. He was a member of the Louisiana Seedmen's Association and the Southern Seedmen's Association. In 1997, he was named the 61st International Rice Festival Honoree.Mr. Guillot was a charter member of and usher at Immaculate Heart of Mary Catholic Church, charter member and past program chairman of Knights of Columbus 5499, leader of "Come, Lord Jesus, We Do Believe" prayer group, past president of Greater Gulf Coast Boating Association, past treasurer and board member of St. Michael PTC, a 58 year member of American Legion Post 15 and Post 15 Drum and Bugle Corps, lifetime member of the Harold Bossley VFW Post 6720, serving two years as commander. He also served on the board of directors of Crowley American Legion Hospital and was an active member of the 384th Bomb Group Reunions.He is survived by his wife of 57 years, Esther Roy Guillot, of Crowley; a son, Patrick Dale Guillot and his wife, Sue, of Columbus, Ga.; a daughter, Carolyn G. Mire, of Crowley; his former son-in-law, Nolan Mire; four sisters, Dorothy Simon, of Crowley, Etheleen Abshire, of Indian Bayou, Bernice Young, of Basile, and Geraldine Matte, of Pasadena, Texas; a brother, Oldon Guillot, of Morse; six grandchildren, Michelle m. Landry and her husband, Michael, Chad Mire and his wife, Jana, Traci M. Simon and her husband, Trey, Joseph, Jane and John Guillot; four great-grandchildren, Claire and Michael Jude Landry and Gabriel and Olivia Mire; one step-great-grandson, Cole Michael Simon.He was preceded in death by an infant brother, Berness Guillot.Visitation will be observed at Geesey-Ferguson Funeral home of Crowley from 11 a.m. until 10 p.m. Monday and again from 8 a.m. Tuesday until time of services. The Knights of Columbus will recite a rosary at 7 p.m. Monday night. Interment will be in Woodlawn Cemetery.

LEMIEUX, Edward "Ned," 82, of Tampa, died January 21, 2005. He is survived by his wife of 60 years, Virginia "Dee Dee"; sons, Bill and his wife, Syd, of St. Petersburg, Fla., and Jim and Joe of Ohio; daughter, Mary Jo Del Puppo of St. Michael's, Md.; 10 grandchildren, Nicole, Josiane, Tony, Chris, Matt, Joe, Alison, Genna, Alex and Jimi; sister, Mary Jo Koster; and brother, Alfred J. Lemieux; both of Ohio. He was born in Cleveland, Ohio, and was married July 10, 1944, at Sacred Heart Catholic Church, where he was a member. He was an avid gardener and enjoyed golf. Ned retired from CSX Railroad as an assistant vice president of customer service. A memorial Mass will be held at 10 a.m. Wednesday at Sacred Heart Catholic Church.
