State Parks

Antelope Island State Park is the largest island in the Great Salt Lake and boasts of white-sand beaches, migratory birds, and a herd of American bison. Visitors can take a peaceful walk through its wilderness to spot free-roaming bison, mule deer, antelope, bighorn sheep, and a variety of migratory birds feasting on brine shrimp along the shore. The park hosts annual wildlife spectacles like the November buffalo roundup for veterinary examinations.

Wow! The views are stunning! Wildlife too -antelopes and bison and abundant bird life! It’s spectacular to see the lake and also the mountains. The beach is vast and can be walked also loads of hiking trails and even a restaurant. Camping in tents and RV’s is also available. Would be a great place for riding bikes. Bring Binoculars to see the diverse birds!

First Time Visiting Antelope Island, Was told at Entrance it was Bug Season, She Sure was not Kidding by the time I hit the first stop, my car was Splattered, and you could hear the bugs. However once I drove farther into the Island the Bugs were not as bad. Still had a great visit, did not see any Antelopes, but saw lots of Bison. Was a very interesting stop on the way home

tom thompson — Google review

Beautiful park! Take your time to drive through the island in search for bisons and antelopes. The views are stunning! Dogs are not allowed on the beach. Make sure to check if it’s mosquito season and bring some repellent. There are several trails, with some easy options. Bring plenty of water with you as it can get very hot during the day. The entrance is $20 for the car.

Elisa Ramon — Google review

Absolutely amazing place to explore when visiting SLC or Park City. Not far from either place and a really beautiful destination. A mindful reminder of how amazing nature is. The visitors center has great information. The free roaming bison are so cool! And the landscape will not disappoint. A great place to see the salt lake and learn a bit more of what natural beauties UT has to offer. $15 entry fee per car. Lots to explore around we only had a few hours but could have probably been there for an entire day plus!

Rebecca Levine — Google review

We loved it and took photos of bison with a 800mm lens. Its important to remember to give wildlife their space and watch them from a safe distance.

Wserita Go — Google review

Went here for sunrise and absolutely fell in love with it. We were lucky to catch the wild bison crossing the road in front of us. Our trip was in late September and the bugs were absolutely atrocious down near the ranch where we watched the sunrise and saw the bison. The bugs weren’t as bad down by the ranch though! wear layers so they won’t bite you and enjoy.

Arielle M — Google review

Spent 3 days camping and worth spending time out here. Buffalo, owls, coyotes, birds, and other wildlife. Visitor center is well done. RV park is spacious, clean and great views. Hiking and biking trails all over.

JAM — Google review

I hadn't been to this park in 6 years, it was so nice to see water towards the end of the entrance! (it was completely dry last time) There were so many bison's too! We saw hundreds with a bunch of babies as well! They crossed right in front of us! Great experience!

Ashley Araujo — Google review

Antelope island feels like it could be a planet from the movie, Interstellar. Got lucky on my first visit here, saw an antelope, hundreds of bison 🦬, and 2 coyotes. Spectacular views a top Buffalo Point trail. $15 to get in.

Myra Boardman — Google review

So many hiking trails, easy and hard. Not too busy, plenty of places to park.Beautiful views.

Renae Steinberger — Google review

We saw the park on YouTube watching a Venture Addicts Destinations Explained video about Salt Lake City. We went there to see the antelope and bison. We didn't see any antelope, but the bison put on a show. We saw one bison at first, then a small group, but eventually drove into several herds of them. Some just casually crossing the road in front and behind our vehicle. We also got several good views of the lake, what's left of it. I was kind of sad to see how much the Great Salt Lake shrunk. The YouTube video did mention the odor and number of flies on the island. The odor wasn’t that bad, but the flies (aka no-see-ums/midges) were an issue. Returning to the city after sunset was a problem. There were so many of them on the causeway that our car and windshield were covered with them. Luckily there was a gas station after you exit the causeway where we could clean our windshield. I still recommend going there to see the bison and lake. The sunset views were from Buffalo Point were amazing.

The Ma?ams — Google review

Absolutely beautiful views! Sure to have a bison sighting. We went twice and saw hundreds each time.

Shelly Ivanovici — Google review

I visited this place in August month. Entrance fee is 15$ for each car. There are few trails and a beach inside. Dogs are not permitted to beach. There is a visitor center inside. It has some information about the wildlife around salt lake. People who are interested in wildlife photography, this is a must place to try it out. Various number of species fly/migrate here. Watch out for those bisons on road they are almost everywhere in the park.

Abhi — Google review

Really great place to visit, just a short distance from the bustle of salt lake city is a wildlife and nature reserve on the shore of the shimmering great salt lake. Lots of buffalo, not that many antelope!

Nick Monaghan — Google review

Beautiful views of the mountain and beach area. Got to see the Buffalo but not any Antelope. I don't think we went high enough into the mountains. Checked out the ranch but there was no guide to explain any of the things we were seeing. The mosquitoes were off the chain! Had to use the outhouse style bathroom and although it was clean, mosquitoes tore my buttocks up. Lol. Hiking trail near bathroom wasn't difficult but that walk to the beachfront was something else. Sand gnats everywhere. They didn't bite though. Bar & Grill on beach was closed the day we went. Took us a little over an hour to get there from Salt Lake City. There is a fee per car but only $15. You drive most trails but they did have a few walking. You can also camp there in RVs or tents.

Poetry D — Google review

Highly highly recommend visiting!! This was some of the most beautiful and diverse terrain all in one location. We travelled with our 3 dogs so didn’t do a lot of the hiking trails but still were able to see plenty of buffalo and sights! So much fun. Only disappointed that there are seasonal road closures 🤷🏼‍♀️

Nikita Naylor — Google review

Someone suggested I visit this place when I had time. Had 4 hrs to burn so made it out here and OMG this place is so peaceful and beautiful!Only drove through and walked around Visiter Center and the Ranch but there is sooooo much more to do here! There’s a bunch of hiking/biking trails, camping grounds, horseback riding, and I’m sure a bunch more but 4hrs wasn’t enough!Don’t think I’d go hiking since there’s a possibility you’ll cross a Bisons path. I will definitely come back to horseback ride when I have at least a whole day to spend!$15 to drive your car in.

James Allan — Google review

Antelope Island is great in the fall, winter, and spring! Summer has a lot of bugs, but the trails are fun to ride and you'll sometimes see bison, deer, and big horn sheep.

Skyller Whitney — Google review

Cool Utah state park with a cafe that serves bison burgers. Also plenty of camping, hiking, & biking options. Horseback riding is also available but refer to website for complete details. Don’t pet the bison!

Isai Gonzalez — Google review

It’s a great day trip with great views. The visitors center has lots of great information on the wildlife, plants, and good walks/hikes to go on. Be prepared for lots of bugs and insects.

Upscale mall featuring trendy brand-name stores, a range of restaurants, movie theater & fountain.

A great and nice outdoor mall especially for Christmas shopping. Clean and safe area with so many different shops. We loved it! There is sufficient parking and an amazing number of different restaurants.

This place is amazing day or night and in all the seasons! So many events and shops. It’s always clean and there’s always plenty of parking! We love getting Fiiz and letting the kiddos play at the play ground!

I love the atmosphere here. Love the variety of restaurants. Love the stores that are here. You can always find what you're looking for. PLUS my favorite nail place is here; M Vince' Nail Spa so for sure go check them out.

Rhiannon Ross — Google review

I'm very impressed with their holiday setup. Santa is within a small cottage, and groups are led in one at a time. It makes the experience much more intimate for the children. They also welcome patrons to take videos for free, which was very kind and doesn't happen at all Santa stops.

Natalie Nielsen — Google review

Came shopping here with my wife and daughter. With a portion of my Christmas bonus I wanted to spoil my daughter. I've never been able to do that so it felt real good. We were there most of the day. I got some new gloves from Columbia that were a disappointment. The girls got shoes, clothes and beauty supplies. Great place to go shopping! Highly recommend, thanks Station Park!

Michael Craig Hooton — Google review

I don’t go to station park often because I spend more then I should. Ha ha there are so many different stores and I love the pretzel maker and the candy shop! There is so much to do there and so many different options of food to choose from!

jackie Shi — Google review

Station Park, Farmington is the premier go-to one-stop shopping and dining hub north of Salt Lake City. Within the central upscale complex you’ll find charming park like landscaping, an array of prime shops, restaurants, business/retail space, apartments/townhomes, and a hotel.Station park is bustling again after the pandemic adversely affected the hub closing numerous shops and restaurants throughout, however, the development of new businesses and apartments/townhomes is flourishing.

Candice — Google review

Station park is great!! There is so many quality stores as well as areas to sit near the fountain or simply sit outside. It’s a great place to stop by to grab food as they have fast food as well as sit down. It is definitely extremely busy during lunch time(especially with the rush of high school kids during the school year) so I do try and go a little before 12 or after 1. Although it is busy at times there is always parking. Great place to walk around or go to various stores.

Quincy Bowcut — Google review

Wonderful shopping mall. Upscale stores and plenty of options to choose from. Traveling around the area and stopped in to do a bit of shopping! Super clean, well organized and even some history to learn!

Jesse Leubner — Google review

Beautiful town center style outdoor mall with lots of upscale dining options We stayed at the Hyatt hotel over there, and had sushi for dinner. Really enjoyed strolling the park at night. They had outdoor seating and there was a stage setup. They must have open air performances.

Larbi Mouedden — Google review

Station Park is a mix of restaurants and shopping in an open air mall setup. Parking is best on the sides and just walk the interior. There are also some restaurants and shopping around the main mall area. Stores are fairly good and restaurants vary but they are usually good. My wife likes most of the stores for clothing and I like some of the outskirts stores. Parking is usually not bad and it can get crowded some days. A fun place to visit and the park with fountain is fun and they do displays that change with seasons as well.

Andrew H — Google review

Wonderful place to visit and have a lazy day enjoying the weather, shopping and people around you. The toy store and candy store are always fun to visit.

Station Park in Farmington is the place to go when you want to have a great time. The Farmington administration did this one perfect. The Dove and I totally enjoy going there with friends or family. So many great restaurants and shops. Great Job!!!

Dan Thomas — Google review

This is a great place to spend time with your family and friends. Lots of shops, cinema, restaurants etc

Ivan Sostarec — Google review

There are a few things we love about Station Park and a few things we don't like as much. Build a Bear and the IT'SUGAR candy store are the perfect places for our traditional grandparent date when each of our 10 grandchildren turn 5. We love the Cinemark movie theater too. There are plenty of great places to eat. We love Tacanos. Most of our favorites are off the main campus. Ramen Haus is top notch. Santorini's is so fresh and full of flavor. And there's all our favorites, Zupas, Habit Burger, and so many more. In the summer it's fun to watch the fountain and in the winter there's ice skating. My main complaints with Station Park is how expensive most of the resteraunts and shops are. It's a very busy place and parking can be a challenge.

Dana Pevey — Google review

Station Park is a great place to shop. I'm not really big on shopping myself, but I do like the wide variety and selection they offer as far as shopping, eating and entertainment in general. They have something to offer for everyone.

Hayley Shafer Wolff — Google review

I have lived in Utah for a few years now and this is my favorite mall by far. It is exceptionally well kept with a great variety of stores including a few places to eat. There are also additional stores directly outside of the mall. I love world market - they have the most beautiful home decor. The candy shop in the mall is very fun and the H&M is great! I love to walk around the mall and windows shop. They have a nice fountain and play park in the center of the mall too. Everything you could ask for and more for a mall.

Laura James — Google review

Fun little outdoor mall spot with some great restaurants and outlet style shopping. It's a great mix of retail, cinema and food options.

Amusem*nt park

Water & Amusem*nt Parks

Theme Parks

Lagoon Amusem*nt Park is a seasonal park that provides visitors with thrilling rides and live shows. In addition to the amusem*nt park, there is also a pioneer village and camping available. The park's theming is not the best due to its focus on providing exciting thrill rides for visitors. Prices are somewhat expensive but manageable.

It was very fun. Lines were short but took longer due to most rides (particularly roller coasters) having only one car going. We had done the South end's coasters first, leading up in intensity to eventually do Cannibal and the more intense rides at the North end of the park. There were visual staffing shortages and a lot of teenage employees. Food prices were okay for an amusem*nt park, ranging from 5 to about 15 dollars. It does become very crowded in the Midway area with people stopping to stand in the middle of the walkway and you were always bumping into other people. Rides were great and entertaining with different levels of thrill ranging from kid rides to very intense rides. Since this is more of a family park, avoiding Kiddieland is very good, avoiding longer lines and a lot of little children. Overall a very great experience, and since I have a season passport I get to go almost every weekend.

Remington S — Google review

Lagoon is a fun place. Lots of rides. It was a hot day but with the water spraying area at the front of the park we cooled right off. They have huge amounts of full grown, beautiful trees to give shade. We went during the week so lines were small. The staff are great! My only concern is the pricing, it is steep. They have added really neat areas and have plans for more that look amazing!!! Hopefully they can figure out some better pricing for everyone. Definitely worth supporting our local theme park! Still a less than going to Disney, but also a smaller scale. Great pools, fun pioneer village, awesome water rides, and of course amazing roller coasters. If you haven't been here try to make it. If it's been years you will be delighted by the new arrivals.

Deborah Ward — Google review

I love this amusem*nt park. There is something for everyone. It gets better every year. It has been open since 1886! That’s 10 years before Utah was even a state! I’ve been enjoying this park since about 1984 as a very young child and have always had a great time. I’ve gone through different friendships throughout those years but cherish all the memories I’ve had with my friends that have come and gone in that time. The prices at the park have really gone up, which is really the only bad thing I could say about the park. I don’t think they need to add a new ride every single year. People will keep coming back regardless. I do recommend this place, but no one really needs my recommendation. People from surrounding states even come here because there are no other amusem*nt parks nearby for hundreds of miles.

Justin Baron — Google review

I've been to many different theme parks around the country. Lagoon stands out to me because of their operations. They are very quick at keeping lines moving. I was also impressed by the friendliness of the staff. My main complaint is the queue lines. There is hardly any queue space, and the lines constantly spill out onto the midway. They have a world class coaster with Cannibal and many other amazing attractions. It is a very family-friendly park. I was impressed with my visits this summer, and I can't wait to return.

Carl TheIntern — Google review

They've really updated the kids area and rides and is just as fun as when I was a kid. Love that they let moms work for season passes as well! Makes the rides go more quickly and smooth too.

Stephanie Barlow — Google review

We came to Lagoon to attend a company party. It was so amazing. They have rides that accommodate everyone! We had various ages from 0-80 I would say. They all had such a blast. There are some water rides for when you get hot, they have a sky lift type ride that will take you from one side of the park to the other. They have rides for the little ones that will keep them going for hours! The staff is friendly and helpful. The food that was served was good and the rides were well maintained and clean. They have it where those with disabilities can get on rides first, but the lines weren't too long which was nice. My only complaint is the parking is expensive, and they don't have enough attendants at closing to direct traffic so everyone can get out safely. We didn't really buy snacks or gifts so I couldn't tell you how much things cost, but I'm sure they are as expected. Will definitely come again. It is worth the trip for family fun.

Shayla Sadler — Google review

Would have been 4 stars but there were a few factors. Minimum of 5 rides broke down/stalled while we were in line for them. Must have been our lot that day or something, but we would wait for 15-20 minutes to see if they would fix it but end up leaving. These rides are getting so old. Other than that, other rides were great.I'd highly suggest to bring a cooler and sandwiches as it's going to taste WAY better than anything that is offered there. I had minimal time to plan so we decided to just eat there. BIG mistake. Spent $10 for each order and I felt like I was back in high school with the quality of the pizza, hamburger and chicken. Lunch and dinner spent about $60 for 2 adults and children. We spent about $300+ for the 3 of us. If you go twice or more, I'd suggest their season pass. I think their 1 time ticket is a bit more expensive than I think it's worth. But it I'd what it is. 🤷

Joel T. — Google review

Lagoon Amusem*nt Park has held its place as an enduring American classic since the late 1800s. The park triumphantly endured a destructive fire in the 1950s and underwent a remarkable metamorphosis, emerging as an expansive attraction that stands on par with esteemed counterparts like Seven Peaks and other renowned amusem*nt parks. With a plethora of rides that can easily fill your entire day with excitement, and come Fall, they host Frightmares, a captivating Halloween-themed spectacle. Lagoon undeniably claims the title of the most enjoyable amusem*nt park for a considerable stretch of miles.

Morpheus X — Google review

Oof Lagoon - it has my begrudging respect, but it's really way too expensive for what it is. If at all possible, try to buy it as part of a bundle, or what it's really geared for - a season pass for local families. I'd be much more charmed by it if it weren't so expensive! As it is, I really didn't think it was worth it until I rode Cannibal at the end of the day, and that's a properly good ride.I also really like Colossus, and love that they have two proper haunted houses. They also have dedicated single rider lines for Wicked and Cannibal, which work really well! Make sure you ask if it's chained off. There are two shows - a magician and an Alice in Wonderland pop music show, and both were better than they had any right to be! And the whole pioneer village area is very unique and quiet. But on the whole - the park is geared towards families, not the biggest thrills. It's trying to be a big park, but acting like a small one - with smeary hand stamps, tickets per ride, short queue lines - it just can't handle big crowds. And on a Thursday, I barely had to wait for anything, not even Cannibal.

Sara Beth Wade — Google review

I absolutely love coming here with my husband. We don't have any kids, but we still have fun. Just went to frightmares and paid extra to see the show Seance, and that was so crazy and cool! We also got to ride the new ride primordial. We waited in line for 2 hours. It was worth the wait! Never experienced anything like it and absolutely had a blast. We bought some items in their gift shop.

Leanne Shaw — Google review

Great park, lots of fun rides. The kids area is almost entirely shaded. You are allowed to bring your own food and drinks in which is a rarity these days. We drive in from out of town multiple times a year to enjoy some family fun!Fairly short waits for most rides.

Remfleg D — Google review

I've always loved going to Lagoon! It's been the highlight of my summers growing up, and now my own kids feel the excitement. We haven't been when the water park was open since i was probably 12 (in 30's now) I'm hoping to make it again this summer. The reason I couldn't give 5 stars is because of the wait to get on any of the rides. I know there's only so much a theme park can do about the wait times, but man, I wish the lines weren't 2+ hours at times. Like I mentioned before, we've been going at the beginning of the season, which could have a play in the wait/ridiculous amount of people, but I'm sure it is crammed full of people no matter the time of year. Do theme parks ever set a capacity? Sounds crazy I know, but it's hard to "get your money worth" when the majority of your time is waiting in a line. I LOVE that they let you bring in coolers too. We love having a lagoon picnic at our set up camp.If we weren't 6 hrs away, a season pass would be a given. That's the way to do it for sure. This trip we happened to be in SLC and heard the opening day was while we were here, so absolutely we went! Lines weren't too bad (except the new ride of course 😉) and a storm came through so very few of us stayed and at that point, NO LINES! Except we were wet and Freezing 🥶 WORTH IT 😁

Aleschia Holloway — Google review

I had a lot of fun here! I arrived around 1 and stayed until 9 and still rode most of the coasters. The park wasn't too crowded until the evening time. The rides were thrilling and exciting.Word of warning: this is an amusem*nt park, not a theme park. The theming is not the best here, because this park is meant for exciting thrill rides.Prices were okay, but still a bit on the expensive side.Overall, I enjoyed my experience here and would come here again for just a select few rides. Especially to ride Cannibal a couple more times! If you're a thrill-seaker, this is a must-ride! The initial 105 degree drop produces an unreal feeling I had never felt up to the point of this ride.

Michael Barnett — Google review

Very very fun! Love the rides, the lines weren't too long. They moved at a very efficient pace. Food was pretty good, a little pricey but that's common everywhere nowadays. All in all, had q really fun day here

Heather — Google review

Expensive but plan to spend the entire day here. Tons of ride options and even have a little kid area. Pioneer Village has the popular Rattlesnake Rapids ride (you will get wet!) as well as old buildings to walk around with informational plaques about the history. Ice cream here is fantastic. Lots of eateries everywhere and carnival games to play.

Angela Naylor — Google review

Had a blast! The lines were not to long, I think the longest I waited was about 30 mins which isn't bad honestly. The park was clean, the food was good. The beaver tails were delicious. Cannibal, Wicked, and Colossus were my favorite rides to go on.

Elyse Johnson — Google review

We love going to Lagoon each year and always get a season pass. We enjoy that they continue to bring new and innovative rides to the park. We had the opportunity to ride the new Primordial ride yesterday and it’s a fun experience. Something very unique and not found anywhere else. We are excited to ride it again and again.

Danielle Nelson — Google review

I visited Lagoon on the opening day of its 2024 season. The park was busy, but most notably the staff felt well trained, friendly, and ready to go for its first day of operation. Cannibal and Primordial are must dos, and the park offers “old school” rides that really set it apart. We had lunch at the Biergarten which offered great food and a large selection of drinks. I look forward to someday returning to this unique amusem*nt park.

Local Traveler — Google review

Frightmares is the best time to go to Lagoon. We had a blast in the haunted houses we went through (5 out of 8) and absolutely loved the SEANCE and Lore live performances. SEANCE was worth the extra money - such a great experience - and Larson, Ryan, and Curtis went out of their way to accommodate the wheelchair user in our group. I noticed many people among the staff paying special attention and care to our ADA needs throughout the park, and I was very impressed and thankful. It's been a few years since I've been to Lagoon, and it remains my favorite amusem*nt park. I can't wait to come back next year!

Kylie Hemmert — Google review

Lagoon is such a fun place to go and ride rides for all ages! We went on a day that wasn’t really busy, but we waited 1 hour and 45 minutes to ride their new ride they have. The price per ticket was a little bit expensive for what we got out of it.

Alicia McGraw — Google review

first time being here after leaving across the highway for four years. the new primordial ride is a unique and thrilling ride I've never been on. It's a combo of a roller coaster, interactive, and unpredictable ride. It's a must but damn, we were almost in line for two hours! this was on a Saturday... It's fun, it's cool, and it's crowded. Be prepared, come early, & a pro tip: bring something to do while you wait in line like trivia cards or the flip up phone game.

Saovada Pum — Google review

The tickets are $100ea. and $25 for a fast pass to the Haunted houses (Which I did not go into because the lines are a nightmare). Besides the price Frightmares 2023 was fun.

Specialty Museums

The Hill Aerospace Museum is a free attraction that showcases various planes, missiles, and aerospace gear while educating visitors on the history of the Air Force. It offers clean facilities, knowledgeable and friendly staff, and a gift shop. Although visiting hours are limited until 4:00 pm, it's an excellent place to take boys and learn from veterans who work there. The museum requires masks for visitors' safety but provides an enjoyable experience overall.

What a wonderful way to honor our history! Parking and entrance is free! Clean facilities. The staff is knowledgeable and friendly. Visiting hours are only until 4:00 pm. They also have a gift shop inside. It was not crowded. You just have to deal with the mask Nazis.

Chrissy — Google review

Must see! The Hill Aerospace Museum offers a vast array of all things aerospace plus. From a model of the first working airplane to more modern aircraft, munitions, personal stories of the brave men and women who have fought for our country, detailed display information, a co*ckpit tour and many larger aircraft that surround the museum. A huge thank you to the many wonderful volunteers for their service to our country and their help in making our experience greater! They can answer your questions, direct you to whatever your looking for, point out hidden gems, offer personal stories, insight and info on current and future features. I took 3 boys aged 5-7 and it kept their attention for over two hours. Entry is free but donations are encouraged throughout the museum with convenient donations boxes. We will return to learn more about our countries past through this thoughtful and beautifully curated museum.

Very cool museum with a lot to see and read. Wish we would have had more time here! If you’re a fan of planes and aerospace craft, and even if you’re not! It’s free but donations are welcome! Great place for anyone! Awesome place to take kids to!

This place is incredible! You only get a little glimpse of it from the freeway, but the second you enter, you realize this place is way cooler than you expected! First, they have an SR-71 inside this place! The first stealth plane that flew at 80,000 and could take photographs while flying at mach 3! SUPER COOL!!Next, they have literally hundreds of things to look at including F-16s, an A-10, missiles, bombs, literally, more than 50 full size fighter jets, airplanes, helicopters, and more. You could spend hours here and it only feels like minutes! Plus, they are continuing to develop "Experiences" that let you go inside airplanes, missile silos (replace scaled down) and more. It's just amazing what they have here.

I was beyond impressed with this museum.I know good aerospace museums that would easily charge $30+ for tickets to see these kinds of aircraft. I was extremely surprised to see that admission was free and there were way more aircraft than I had expected. For the average citizen, they might not realize how great this place is unfortunately. The only one I've been to that tops it is the Smithsonian in DC, and well, they are hard to beat. Great job.Overall it is an amazing museum. Will be back again.

Incredible! So many airplanes. I could've spent all day here and then some. Went while visiting Salt Lake City and was well worth the visit. Outdoor area with larger planes and two large indoor museum spaces. Helpful staff, as well.

This museum was really amazing and a must if your in the area. Also call ahead for someone to do a tour with you I recommend asking for Kenneth he was wonderful to my family and myself. We didn’t know about the tours but gave us a little history for the time he had before he started a tour with another family and/or school.I will put some of the pictures that I was able to take and share. It was free to go in but do recommend giving a donation because the up keep as well as seeing these volunteers were well worth it.Thank you to the volunteers staff and the cute gift shop place too. Thank you to our vets who served and lost there life’s serving our country.

I was visiting Hill in November of 2023 and always make it a point to check out the Air Museums whenever I’m visiting a base thats new to me. Its not very far from the base at all, it wasn’t crowded at all either and every single person we came in contact with was so friendly and welcoming and just happy to have visitors and to educate about all of the different types of aircraft, they really are lovely. Thank you for being so kind and for the wonderful conversations too!I had fabulous conversations with a few men working there in different areas, I happened to be wearing my U2 Dragonlady sweater and they were so excited to find someone that knew what that plane was lol it was great and we had fun sharing stories from their past and my present life as an Air Force spouse and telling them all about my husband who works with the U2.The museum was very clean, laid out well and looked like they will be expanding soon and opening another hanger. I was sad that the Fighters weren’t being shown at the time, but I hope to see them one day. Thanks for making my visit a memorable one, I’d definitely come back again!

Great place to take your boys to. The Veterans working there are so sweet and eager to share. 1-2 hours to walk through it all. Cute gift shop. Masks were required.

We loved coming to the museum! They have an outside section with their big airplanes and the older smaller exhibits inside. They have well written signs about the exhibits and volunteers that can also tell you different stories and background on the exhibits. The museum is pretty big and is geared more towards school kids and adults. I would bring a stroller for young kids since there is a good amount of walking. They do have a flight simulation that you can reserve for school aged kids and a C-130 you can go inside. We will definitely be back after the construction and addition of new exhibits!

Tiana Farnsworth — Google review

A truly amazing museum. The amount of history here is stunning. They have an abundance of jet planes - everything from fighter jets such as the F-15 and F-16, reconnaissance planes such as the SR-71, bombers and transportation planes, and so much more. The planes come from multiple generations, so you will can see an F-4 and a more modern unmanned drone. You can also see weapons, sit in a stationary cargo plane, see exhibits of military uniforms and equipment, and there are tons of areas that talk about women in the military, POWs from the Vietnam War, and more. The museum is free but encourages donations. We left a donation and bought some from the shop to show our support. Even the gift shop has a great selection. We took a close friend who is an Air Force veteran. Thanks for such a great experience and we will be sure to come again!

The museum has a pretty impressive display of planes and ICBMs. Staff are super friendly and most have worked on airplanes previously so they can provide a lot of insight. The museum is very accessible for wheelchair users, those with mobility impairments, and those with service dogs. Fair amount of walking inside and outside to see the display of planes. Well worth the trip out to see them.

Susan Hardee — Google review

Such an awesome, historic experience! Got to go with my grandfather, who enjoyed every second of it. Between him and the random volunteers walking around I got to learn a lot, and he got to talk to people that understood fully his stories from his days in the Navy. Thank you for this experience.

An amazing exhibition with civil and military aircraft of all kinds.A large part of the exhibits are covered in a climatized hanger. The bigger ones are outside. You get a feel of the Cold War when you see the size of B52 and other bombers. Also, some good history panels re Korea and Vietnam warIt is easy to spend 2-3 hours here, and entrance is free

What a fantastic aerospace museum local to Davis county at Hill AFB!It was recently shut down for a few short weeks (23 October - 3 November) for some expansion/rearrangement but is back open to the public, albeit with more work in progress with the L.S. Skaggs 'wing' still under construction (as I post this on 4-Nov-2023).As such, a few of the aircraft are not currently viewable (the SR-71, for example).Otherwise, it was a bright and cheery day today at the museum and look forward to getting back there soon to check out the expansion when it's done!

Best Military Aviation museum I have visited In US. Its collection was well thought out and comprehensive of obvious military aircraft from important eras in Aviation history. As well as including a significant number of often forgotten important aircraft such cargo and reconnaissance planes which are often not on display or recognised properly in other museums.

Clifford D. Mallory — Google review

This museum has an excellent selection of stunning military aircraft. From the early days of flight, to modern service jets, there's something for you to love. Most planes have an exhibit gors over details of the aircraft and it's history. There is plenty of parking, though it was fairly packed when I visited.

The Ogden Union Station is a historical 1920s train station that has been converted into an indoor marketplace, complete with museums, art galleries, and eateries. This magnificent building still retains its former beauty and charm despite showing signs of wear and tear. The Ogden City Arts Department has taken over stewardship of the station to ensure it receives the care it deserves.

Oh man, we love this place so much. What a great museum. My boys are obsessed with the little train models that go around the different tracks. My only negative about this place is that the one man that is often in the Browning gun portion is really not super patient with kids. I want my kids to go to museums and think learning is fun, so I want it to be a positive experience. He hasn’t ever gotten after my kids, but I’ve heard him bark at other kids several times before for doing normal kid things, like asking him a question while he was finishing up a sentence. That type of thing does not fly with that man. And no, kids shouldn’t do that, but they are still learning and I think they could be given some grace. It’s not like they blurted out something irrelevant while he was talking, they were listening to him and learning and interested. Anyway, everything else is great. That dude stresses me out.

Rachael Almeida — Google review

Fun place to visit to learn about the history of locomotives 🚂 in Ogden. There is a train exhibit outside that is supper cool- lately the museum has provided entrance to 2 train cars (the military hospital transit and USPS mail carrier). It’s neat to see how life was no too long ago. Great place for kids to explore, and awesome for family photos, particularly during sunset.

Alexander Carbon — Google review

I love this venue! Absolutely perfect for every event but they went above and beyond to help us pull off a very magical company party, owls and all!

Majeela L — Google review

I've always loved this building, and that hasn't changed with the years that have gone by since I've last been in the doors. (Almost 30 years). It's a little rougher around the edges, but thankfully Ogden city arts department is moving in and will most definitely provide the care this place deserves. It's rich with history, and beautiful to boot. Anyone in the Ogden area is missing out if they don't stop by

Lisa Adams — Google review

Such a cool museum! It is an old.trsi. station that now houses 3 collection museums. The train museum is the largest and super informative and interesting. The Browning gun section is also extensive. The Browning family has a large and beautiful collection of early model cars. Volunteers were so helpful and friendly.

Cathy Jameson — Google review

They really do a good job of keeping this place in great shape. It is a pleasure to visit here. Only one thing. You can't see the inside of the trains until warm weather, or May, they say, so be advised. You can see a lot of history in three museums, The Railway museum, The Browning Arms Museum, and the Classic Cars. All for 7 dollars while supporting a great effort to preserve these fantastic historical items.

Ski resort

Nature & Parks

2002 Winter Olympics site offering classic ski-resort activities & year-round events since 1936.

Pretty sweet spot. We lucked out and had some of the only fresh powder they’ve seen in a few weeks. So our experience was pretty good.Visibility was a little tough at the time towards the top.I think most runs are ski dominate. But Main Street with minimal traffic was a snowboarders dream. Not remotely a pro, or heavily experienced. But the run was well managed and wide open. Clocked us doing about 40 down through there.Wait times were never longer than maybe 5 minutes, even during the busiest part of the day on a Saturday after a snow dump on Thursday night. Not the largest park. But well managed, quality staff and well groomed runs. Highly recommend if you can get in here with fresh powder.

Randy — Google review

Great fall hike! Taking the gondola up! It was fun but a little pricey to get to the top but spectacular views!

Kevin Sanders — Google review

Snowbasin was great. Lots of terrain to ski, powder stashes here and there, especially if you hike a little. The groomers were in good shape and skied fast, too. The added gondolas and trams from 2002 Olympics are great.

Bryan Bassett — Google review

If you want great skiing, Snowbasin is where you should go! They take great care of their runs by grooming them regularly. Middle Bowl lift was replaced in the 2021 off season. It’s a 5 minute ride to the top!I had so much fun my last couple of visits! I look forward to going again soon.

Great mountain. Wish we caught it on a powder day. But we did get a blue bird day. The lodge area is really nice. First time at the mountain so there was a lot of traversing to get around and explore. There is a good amount of parking available. Didn’t fill up and we got there around 10:30 but it was a weekday. Recommend going to the top and taking the tram. Great views up there.

Abigail Adamek — Google review

Awesome slopes, nice views and decently priced lift tickets $215/day vs $300 at Park City. Snow was good and you can find slopes for every skill level. Definitely coming back.

Mihai Zgunea — Google review

Superb...Fantastic experience. Very Organized. They had all kinds of Ski Slopes. Beginners, Intermediate and Advanced. 9000 feet high mountain slopes. Ski lifts or closed Gondolas to carry you up the mountain. The Resort is very popular amongst the locals. They have trained instructors. Huge gift shops with lot of items. Huge eatery, Seperate building for rentals. We took a whole day package deal along with Ski lessons and was at a good price. It is about 1 hour drive from Salt Lake City. Ample parking. Lot of warm places to sit with family and enjoy lunch. We loved it as family and would highly recommend the same to other families / Adults.

A place for the books! We came for the Blues, Brews and BBQ event a few weeks back and loved everything about our day trip! The scenery is gorgeous, they have many different hike/bike trails, mini-golf, good beer, a nice restaurant at the top of the mountain, a gondola ride and to top it off... it's a dog friendly venue!!

Jenasea VanDerVeur Morse — Google review

Pretty close proximity to Salt Lake City and has a local, homey feel that is wonderfully run from the seemingly dozens of parking guests to the wonderful restaurant staff. The lodges were extremely nice and almost felt like a nice country club. We went there on a Saturday jn mid march and it was not crowded with no lift lines longer than 5 min. It is on the smaller side with only few chairlifts, one gondola, and a very short tram mostly serving a hike along a very steep and rocky ridge with various chutes to go down. Mountain consists of a fair share of blues and greens with some blacks mixed in. There were some good tree runs with pretty good snow even a couple days after it actually showed. It seemed most skiers of the mountain were not very good and stuck to groomers or easy runs. There are a lot of chutes that can be hiked too and feed down to the main top area of the mountain. There is a very short hike to the top of one of the peaks that has amazing panoramic views of the spectacular rocky tops of the mountain along with the salt lake and surrounding flat areas with mountain rising up in the distance. All around good family mountain with some steeper stuff and a small feel. Definitely worth it especially on weekends where more mainstream mountains in the area are packed.

The weather was perfect today, blue skies, sunshine and good temp. Lots of great snow. Not crowded. Lodges are gorgeous.Spring 2023 Spring skiing is awesome!!

Went skiing for the first time ever..!! From South Carolina, visiting the area for work and decided to give it a try since they had so much snow this late in the season (April 15, 2023). Everyone, including the two gentlemen who bought me a beer prior to my run down the beginner slope, were very friendly and helpful!! Beautiful resort!! I plan to return again next season and take some lessons, and become a better skiier!! Thank you Snowbasin for making my first trip so enjoyable!!

Lisa Ash — Google review

It was our first time skiing in Snowbasin and we went Thursday & Friday last week. We have the Ikonpass and we wanted to ski a new resort. It snowed on Thursday and it was cold. The resort’s lodges were beautiful and comfortable. It was nice to relax and get back on the lifts again once we warmed up. I appreciate the gondolas. It wasn’t very busy on Thursday, and there were no lift lines. There were more cars/people on Friday. It was a beautiful day. The resort offered shuttles from the parking lot. We were worried that there were going to be long lines. It was only long in the early morning. Snowbasin is beautiful. The staff were very friendly and helpful. Overall, we enjoyed our experience.

Catherine Hunt — Google review

It is a gorgeous ski mountain with break taking views of the mountains. Unfortunately, the parking situation there was a nightmare. They badly need a reservations system for that. Even though their website says most easy to access, it actually took 30 minutes in backed up traffic just to enter into the premises. We also did not like how bumpy the mountain was. There were little to few flat runs. Your only choice was moguls on just about every downhill pathway. If you love the bumps then this is the place to go. We had driven an extra 50 minutes to escape the hustle and bustle of some of the other ski resorts in Utah and were disappointed in the result. If you live in Ogden, I guess this is the best choice, but if coming from elsewhere, not so much. We are not going to rush back here anytime soon.

Greg Arbutine — Google review

The mountain was absolutely fantastic with a ton a varied terrain. Our group had all skill levels from beginner to advanced and everyone was able to find a spot on the mountain to enjoy. The glades past strawberry were incredible. The lodge was very, very nice with bathrooms located right next to the lift so you don’t have to trudge inside. The line to park was long but I did enjoy not having to make a reservation. We arrived at 10:30 and there was plenty of parking space left. The only improvement would be to upgrade the pass scanners so you don’t have to take the pass out of your jacket every time.

Reid Thomas — Google review

One of the most beautiful resorts with exceptional runs. The runs are so long and perfectly pitched. Everywhere you go is beauty beyond belief!

Nadine Galbraith — Google review

Great spot for a company ski day! The lodge was among the nicest I’ve ever been to. We had the Huntington room with catering services. Emma and Alex did a wonderful job coordinating this event with me and it was a fantastic success!

Majeela L — Google review

The mountain is wonderful, and even despite this winter being pretty lousy, almost everything is open. The snowmaking machines are always working, keeping the slopes snowy, rather than rocky. We had an amazing experience at this resort.

Site of the completion of the transcontinental railroad, this park features working steam trains.

At the gift house and visitor center everyone was so friendly. There was a 20 min video about the two rails coming together. There was so much fun stuff for all ages. If your going to fallow the rail track road trail make sure you have a couple of days to see everything

Jamie Webb — Google review

We have stopped here before a long time ago and thought we would go again. It is definitely worth the drive out to visit. We went with family and had a great time. There are 2 auto tours you can go on as well as a hike at the Big Fill. There is a video that really is a must see. The staff is so friendly and helpful. We loved when they brought out the Jupiter and the 119. The reenactment was wonderful. If you are passing through the area, it is definitely worth the visit.

Donna Smith — Google review

It was great to see a place that I referred from high school American History. I appreciate that the immigrant workers were celebrated, years after their erasure from the original telling of history. The rain that I didn't give 5 stars is because the various markers and places of interest were a bit disjointed, even with the vet helpful guide. The rangers are great and the air conditioning in the main building was very welcome.

Carol Tran Slawson — Google review

The drive to the Golden Spike in Promontory, UT is well worth the visit! The museum has a 20 minute movie that runs every half hour which allows for time to join the reenactment outside! The steam engines were amazing to see in action and the history of the Golden Spike is easy to follow along. A must see!

Brandi S. — Google review

This is a neat piece of history, preserved by the National Parks Service. The staff are friendly and informative. For a weekend day where I didn't want to drive the 4+ hours to other national parks, I'm glad I visited the Golden Spike.I visited during their winter month schedule. This means their replica engines are in storage and go through periodic maintenance. But this also means a park ranger gives more detailed info and background on the engines (replicas and originals), including a demo of the bell, in this instance. There are only 3 of these opportunities each day during this part of the year, 10:30-11, 1-1:30 and 3-3:30, so time your visit accordingly.I recommend a visit here, then on your way back to Layton/Ogden/Salt Lake City, visit the Big Fill Trail where they have markers with audio guide messages, and Northrop Grumman's rocket garden.

Kevin Lemen — Google review

We took our two year old son and let him do the Junior Ranger program. A lot of fun! If interested just ask the ranger at the visitor center and they will help you out.The ranger was awesome and the visitor center is small and nice. A lot of interesting history to learn out here.Doing the trip in the winter really shortens the list of things to do here, but there is no crowd midday Friday! (Not sure there is too much of a crowd any day…)Definitely worth the trip! Don’t forget to check out the engine house!

David Kopp — Google review

Must see site for train nerds! Totally worth the 30 mile drive from I-15. We spent three hours here and thankfully got to watch the reenactment with the two replica trains. Fun for every age. The rangers were informative, funny, and helpful. You can tell they enjoy they're jobs. One of the firemen is a local and said this is his dream job. Take a lunch for food, but there is a water fountain and real restrooms.

Jesse Yates — Google review

The trains were very well taken care of ,very cool to see them coming out of engine houses. The Rangers and staff are very knowledgeable, the train operators are patient and tell you anything you want to know about those engines. Only wish they had more stuff to look at. It is worth the trip out to see the history and all it took to make this country to what it is today.

Gaylin Gabbitas — Google review

This is an excellent museum with the original steam engines from the Pacific Railroad and the Central Railroad. This site is the actual location where the 2 railroads actually met and they connected the rails with a golden spike. That golden spike has since been removed and donated to Stanford University. However the original steam engines are there along with a wonderful museum that displays much history and many artifacts. There is also a nice gift shop. This place is a gem.

We really enjoyed this! Really awesome ranger too! We loved her passion for the area and her knowledge made this particular experience even better

A really Cool museum for fans of the railroad. This is where east and west net and a golden spike was driven into the ground to mark the occasion. Wonderful visitors center full of background on the workers and they have two amazing train replicas that spew black smoke and steam towards one another to meet! Really cool for the kids to see. For sure worth a visit on your way to Spiral Jetty.

First of all, it's a bit expensive for one person just to drop in - $20 per car. Great for a family! Not so much for me. But I lucked out and got to see a second beautifully restored locomotive join the first one nose-to-nose in a ranger presentation. They really are beautiful. Don't miss the movie in the theater, it's pretty moving. There is a small room of exhibits, but make sure to do the nearby walking trails and audio driving tours to get your money's worth.

Sara Beth Wade — Google review

Nice drive to a beautiful visitors center. The displays are excellent and informative. They run the two stream trains for a 45 min show, just don’t stand downwind of the coal fired “Rogers” engine for obvious reasons.

G Marshall — Google review

Off the beaten path, this historic site pays homage to one of the more important historical events in the development of modern US as the connection of Union Pacific and Central Pacific railways joined together. The working train replicas really are worth seeing and hearing. Hearing from the park rangers and conductors provides fascinating insights to the past and the events leading up to the railway’s development.Although a few miles off the highway, this historic site is “one of a kind” and provides great insight into the efforts required to build these two railways and the motivations behind them. The impacted Indian nations are depicted and information is provided to better understand where the railroads crossed many native Tribal lands.

B Patterson — Google review

Had this stop on my list for a while. Enjoyed watching the 20 minute show and looking around at all the historical sights. We also got to learn more about the locomotives used during that era and seeing two of them in the shop. We got to drive the actual path the tracks were laid on.

Marc Shoemaker — Google review

Worth the drive! (Also check out the Spiral Jetty and ATK Rocket Park while you are out there)Very cool to be there right at 10:00am and 10:30am when the two trains come into the station. Our Ranger Diana was so knowledgeable and so helpful. She answered all of our questions and shared the great history of the railroad and the meeting of the railroads at Promontory Point. The train engineers were also very friendly and even posed for a photo. Our kiddos have been learning about Utah state history in school, and visiting the park helped bring the history to life!

Jill Lalliss — Google review

There's not a lot there but it was fun to visit! The visitor's center is tiny, but we enjoyed the video presentation/historical information and gift shop. The site is dog friendly, which we appreciated, but only serve animals are allowed in the building.

Laura Watkins (House of Geekiness) — Google review

What a fun experience for the history and train lovers out there! We spent a couple of hours here watching the trains come in, exploring theMuseum, and watching the costumed reenactment. We loved it!The only issue we saw was that it was sometimes it was difficult to hear the actors during the reenactment, because of where the speakers were and the wind level that day.

Huge ski area with 154 separate trails, 2 terrain parks & 9 lifts, plus various resort facilities.

A little hard to go skiing for my first time, but once I got the hang of it, it was sooooo fun. Slopes are awesome size and just so fun and diverse. Went during the night and was absolutely amazing.

Wow!! What a gem!!!! Have been coming to Park City area for years and had never made the trek to Powder Mountain- or Pow Mow as the locals call it. It’s a decidedly different experience than the other area hills. Think skiing 20 years ago. Fewer people, they only sell 1500 lift tickets per day. The terrain is great. On one of the busiest days of the year we saw virtually no one. We utilized the free tour guide at 10 am and we’re lucky to have Judi from NH. She was so friendly, knowledgeable, and adapting to our group. I am reluctant to share this review because I reluctantly want to keep this special place a secret!! Consider the $25 cat ride to the untouched terrain!!

Drew Mitchell — Google review

We came out here for night snowboarding because Brighton closed down due to the dangerous weather, and we're glad we did. Not only was Powder Mountain cheaper, but it wasn't very crowded - so we got a ton of great powder runs in.At night time they only open one lift and a few trails, but they are well lit and quite a lot of fun to shred on.The facilities are in great shape and we had no issues with parking, lift tickets, food, or restrooms during our stay.

Greg Eakins — Google review

Prefer over Park City every time! We live in Florida so only ski 1-2x a year and loved Powder Mountain. First, rentals were great and so easy to get. No line and great service. Staff everywhere was smiling and chatting with us at each left, super friendly and professional. The views and trails were gorgeous, well groomed and they limit how many tickets were sold so we skied ALONE many times down various green and blue trails. Eden has a few decent restaurants but also worth the 25 minute drive to Ogden for 25th street filled with restaurants and bars.

BEST SKI RESORT IN UTAH!!An absolutely incredible resort with some of the best terrain I’ve ever boarded. I had the best powder day I’ve ever had. I was boarding untouched powder the whole day. Due to powder mountains higher elevation they have some of the best snow in Utah. I love how they limit ticket sales so it never gets too crowded. We walked onto almost every lift on a sold out day! I’ve been to almost every resort in Utah and Powder mountain might take the cake as my favorite!

Shout out to the Timberline Lodge and the maintenance crew for providing c l a a a a a s s y as f*rk renovations to the facilities here, and to Chef James Hamilton for breathing life into the menu at Powder Keg and the cafeteria.Very excited to see what Hidden Lake has to offer when it opens. As a (very) biased employee of the commissary kitchen for PowMow, this review is however not a matter of opinion, it's just a fact.Chowder FountainR I I I I I I P S 🤙🏼

Powder mountain is always a great place to visit.Especially when the city is full of smog!It has some breath taking views! There ski school was awesome!

Powder Mountain has something for everyone, blue cruisers, trees and challenging blacks. I went on a Saturday and didn’t wait for more than 3 minutes at most to get on a lift.

Spent the day with some friends on an all day snow cat skiing adventure yesterday. Our two guides, JT and Becky, were amazing! Had a safety brief in the morning then we were off for a full day of untracked snow, amazing views, and fresh powder. Halfway through the day we had a picnic lunch at a “snow table“ that the guides built for us to eat around. I have done multiple trips like this and this was by far the best one so far will definitely go back and do it again highly highly highly recommend!

This is a fantastic local ski resort if you’re looking for an affordable, beginner-friendly, non-corporate, local feel resort. We came and here and took the first time snowboard school and wow! I have to say we were blown away by the instructor that we had. My wife is terrified of slopes and kept falling repeatedly on the top of the green run and was close to giving up. Our instructor Doug, patiently worked 1x1 with her and all of a sudden, it clicked and she successfully went down the mountain with no issues. She was hype after that and I have to give my sincere thanks to Doug for his steadfast commitment to teaching and working with her. Thank you!

We had an amazing trip in 2023 and are going back March 2024. No waiting in lines and nice off trail runs. Highly recommend

Five stars for the ski area, minus 2 for the pricing and access changes. Powder Mountain describes itself as huge, and it is definitely massive. We visited for two days and barely felt like we saw the place (visibility was also low, so that didn't help), but got in a ton of good runs. Some areas have really deep snow while you can also go on a lot more lightly covered trail runs. Lifts are all pretty slow, but limited lift lines made it not a huge issue (though Hidden Lake lift in sleet is pretty miserable). Had a great time, but unfortunately, we won't be able to visit again. A bunch of reviews mention this already but prices doubled to around $229+ for a lift ticket. This is absolutely absurd for the amenities: a few slow lifts, limited parking, and lodges from the 80s or older. They will also stop accepting Indy Pass next season and are closing part of the mountain to take it private for a luxury housing community. Powder Mountain has decided to close its doors to all but the rich, so while we really enjoyed the snow, we will have to look elsewhere for future ski trips.

Went night skiing on 12/29 and it was a great experience. I love that they cap the amount of tickets sold to keep from over-crowding. They had a "magic carpet" lift that my toddler loved, and the runs were varied enough that I enjoyed my time, and my 3 year-old could learn to ski.I also had a great experience with staff. I lost my diaper bag and I had it back in my possession the next afternoon. Everyone I interacted with was very friendly and helpful. Thank you again!

I'm not sure how to give my ultimate review. This place rocks! I never heard of Powder Mountain, but damn!; I have too many good things to say about this resort; their people and our experience. The ski resort is big. We couldn't do it all (maybe 30%) in 2 days. Great trails; very long; incredible views; quick lines (on a weekend); we may be from the East coast, but we've done over a dozen big name resorts and this BY FAR was the best. Most impressive was the staff. As soon as we got there everyone was there to help. Tons of positives to say here, but to suffice it to say I wish all of my staff was as attentive, helpful, thorough, not on their phones and friendly. 5 stars to Powder Mountain! I could go on, and on. At the end of day 1, we met the guy who books music at the Timberline lodge. Wow! Mind-blowing better than expected, crowd tipping $20s, Music was awesome; Friggin' Amazing!, etc. Skiers like to enjoy a great day and that scene at the lodge was just off the rails in a great way! Cutting it short; this mountain has great skiing, great employees and has a great atmosphere. We're already planning next year's visit. Join us!

Bryan Hochstein — Google review

We have been coming here for 15+ years and we love, love, love this mountain. But what happened with lift tickets pricing this year is absolutely horrible! Reed Hastings bought the mountain and is trying to price us regular people out. I just looked at Friday 2/9/2024 - $229 before taxes. For one day! We can drive 15 min to Snowbasin and ski for $40 less. Snowbird and Alta for comparison also $40 less. And next year they are revoking decades long tradition of free skiing for seniors 75+. Have they no shame?!They call it dynamic pricing, but it’s not. Dynamic pricing matches pricing to demand. Here it’s just the opposite: they try to make up the revenue they are missing due to lack of demand, by pricing tickets even higher. To prove my point, here is empty popular lift (Mary’s) on a powder day. That would have never been the case in previous years.🤯

Anna O — Google review

Had a fantastic private lesson as a first time skier with Paul! Worth every penny for the full day session (930-330). I had tried skiing once back in 2011 and it ended after 90mins with me being skied down the bunny slope in tears by one of my friends. That was a scarring enough experience to keep me off the mountain for over a DECADE!I came into my private lesson, which I shared with a friend, with zero hopes/expectation. When my friend mentioned that I'd be going down the actual lift by lunch time, I was highly skeptical, but Paul was so helpful and patient and had both of us on the lift just after lunch, much to my surprise/delight! He explained and demonstrated proper body positioning, angles, movements etc and was just so encouraging! I fell a lot, of course, but by the end of our lesson, I actually was trying a couple of blue routes with him.Powder itself is a really cool spot, a little farther out and was less crowded than Alta which we went to the following day (could be because it was midweek-Thursday- though). It's definitely got a grungy/purist vibe to it, but still a welcoming/inviting atmosphere, and coming from a complete novice, it's a great spot to get started!

Nature & Wildlife Areas

This bird refuge & marsh area offers a 12-mile auto tour, fishing, hunting & wildlife viewing.

We have been here before and did the drive through the refuge; so wish we had had the time on this trip because it was the height of bird migration and we would have seen a lot of different birds. The staff was very informative. Hope to come again this time of year to do the drive. The indoor display of birds and sounds is very well done and educational. There was construction going on in the back of the building, with new landscaping, benches, and native plants that looks like will be used for educational purposes. It will be interesting to see it the next time we are in the area.

Incredible!! This place blew my mind d. It was like a bird safari. I saw 22 different species during the auto tour! The visitors center is very nice. There are a few different y walks from there, but we didn’t see any thing until we drove to the actual refuge. We missed the swans but saw so much. I want to go back a different time of year and see what else we can find.

Great place to see Bald Eagles and Herons. The trip from Salt Lake City is a little long, but with coffee and good company you are there it seems in no time.If you go during the winter months, beware! The road around the refuge us a mix of CLAY, GRAVEL, DIRT AND SAND. Your car/SUV will get extremely dirty. Do not wait days to wash it. It won't cone of once it's solid. Use a high powered sprayer to get into every nook and cranny of your cars underside, especially the wheelhousing. I waited a week and it took 2 hours and 30 dollars to get my Tahoe looking new again.

Rob Court — Google review

Awesome place. The visitors center was open and we enjoyed all the displays and information. The kids had a great time doing the Jr Ranger Activity Book along the trail. That kept them busy for at least an hour. Nice paved trail with benches along the way. There was no shade so I would recommend a hat and glasses. We didn’t have time to drive around the rest of the refuge.

Jannette G — Google review

Had a beautiful morning photographing bird are the refuge! The walking trails by the nature center were okay. The best sightings are out on the auto tour trail

Hawkin Saeger — Google review

Sometimes we cannot appreciate the simple things in nature. If you really want to be in touch with nature and experience some of the wild, you don't need to go to the jungle. In this place, you will enjoy spectacular sunsets, the singing of birds, the sudden fright of many that take flight, the bites of wild sandpipers, days full of fog in winter, the nostalgia of a lake that threatens to disappear. and a river that gives life to the mangroves that provide food and life to thousands of birds and aquatic species. I recommend it 200%. A paradicical wildlife place that we have included in our photographic project, from Ana's CameraWork.

Ana Steinbach — Google review

Excellent place, huge collection of birds , all viewable from a driving tour. Recon on 2-3 hours to drive the full circuit.

We went on Annual Swan Day a few weekends ago. Sadly, still too cold here to see the swans. (They say they were easily seen down at Farmington Bay.)Plenty of activities for the kids, a nice gift/book shop, even featuring local photographers work. They have a nice exhibit hall to help you learn more about the area.Kids earned the FREE Junior Ranger pin. They provide you with a booklet, pencil and light green backpack full of gear to adventure with as you complete activities in the booklet.Recent snowmelt made it hard to do much of the paved trail as some family members didn't have proper shoes.I'd love to come back in May when things have warmed and greened up a bit more.

Karen Duvall — Google review

South end is open for hunting access through Perry. There is a launch made of concrete. Parking for 8 trucks with trailers. No restrooms at the area so go before you come out. If you use the launch be careful as you pass others in the canal. Clean up after your self and be prepared to be checked by federal fish and game at this location when coming back in.The hunting proclamation is pasted and pamphlets are available on like r at the launch. Please follow all rules and guidelines as you enter the wetlands.

My wife and I travel there often. It never disappoints. Today, for instance, we made the 1.5 hour drive to see some reported bald eagles. We made the loop, stopping frequently and driving an average speed of 7 mph. We didn't see any bald eagles. We did see harrier after harrier, many of which were gray ghosts. So much beauty in every direction.

Joseph hpesoJ — Google review

The visitors center is a pleasant surprise full of beautiful interactive displays. You’ll learn a lot about the Great Salt Lake and the refuge and the role each plays in the ecosystem. Wish it was opened till 5pm or 6pm. It’s hard to get there before it closes.

Mark Primosch — Google review

Beautiful scenery and wildlife. So peaceful and amazing, to go on the auto tour. We had so much fun and no trouble seeing a variety of birds, dragonflies, butterflies and fish.

Julianne Larsen — Google review

Update February 2023: Interesting and educational James V. Hansen Wildlife Education Center. Unfortunately, we didn't see any bald eagles while driving the loop although others have spotted a few.Previous year: Binoculars are essential. On the way to the loop you may see a bald eagle on a post so look around as you drive there. We saw two single ones, two groups of two, one group of five that would have made a great photo, many farther away.

Jeanette Rodgers — Google review

Me and my family LOVE the Bird Refuge! All year round there are different things to see! There are times where you don't get to see much wildlife. But the scenery is beautiful to drive through still to some! Bring a camera if you are interested in photography of birds at all! Probably a lense that zooms pretty far too if your extremely serious about taking pictures! Not exactly completely kid friendly as it is basically a drive through and observe the animals you may see! Dirt roads so in the wetter/colder seasons its a bumpy holey journey! I think it's great still though! :)

This place was amazing. The springs, themselves, were magical. The facilities at this mineral hot springs could use a little updating. The changing rooms should be clearly defined, as they are close to each other by one wall, and if you are not a local, you can find yourself seeing some human anatomy, you were not prepared to see. The spring itself has several pools of varying temperatures. The largest water holding area is very hot, with the other pools declining in heat, yet hot. Trickles of cold mineral water will refresh you in one area. There is a comfortable cave area. The water is so mineral rich that your body can float effortlessly in any pool. You can pay for the experience daily or purchase a year pass.

Susan Abbott — Google review

$16 each to get in and spent 3.5 hours there. Worth it. They have multiple pools and got tubs with varying temperatures. Chairs available to lay out in to cool off. Drinks and snacks available for purchase. Didn't use the pool because it was closed until 4. Changing stalls, showers, and lockers are available.

Heather powell — Google review

So much fun! Each pool is a different temp ranging from cool to hot! Really a fun experience!! We really enjoyed being in a heated pool with the snowcapped mountains in the background! We went on a Friday in March around 12pm, not busy at all. The water slides didn’t open until 4p so we missed playing on those! Lots of parking! Highly recommend!

Kristin Maynes — Google review

The Crystal Hot springs are awesome! I’ve only been here twice, but I’ve enjoyed it so much both times! The slide pass is two dollars more, but it’s definitely worth it! The slides are long and a lot of fun! The variety of pools is fantastic- if you’re feeling too hot, there are a variety of pools that are cooler to allow you to cool down. My one complaint would be that there’s not a lot of shade available in the pool, but it’s hardly a complaint because the pools are so much fun that you don’t notice the lack of shade. The facilities are very nice, and they have individual changing rooms as well as family changing rooms. As a whole, I would definitely say that it is worth a visit!

Zack Smith (PresidentSparky) — Google review

The only reason why I gave this place 4 stars is everything needs updating. It all looks old and outdated, which did not help with the environment. The pools needing cleaning as well. The water was great, the slides were a fun touch (but still need updating), and the pools for sure need cleaning. Was it worth the $20 per person? For my first visit, yes. Would I come back in the next 10 years? Not at that price. If it was less expensive I would make the trek up there more often. Also, why is there no umbrella’s for people? Most water places have umbrella’s included. This place did not, which caused me to not stay as long for fear of getting sunburned. That could be an immediate fix that many people would appreciate.

Brandon Patterson — Google review

What a fun little place. Tons of different pools with different temperatures, lots of places to lay out, and plenty of storage. I do wish I brought some bottled waters with me to the pool. They have some for purchase at the front desk but hard to get to if you are already in the water. My two young daughters had a great time.

Tyler — Google review

My favorite! The Crystal Hot Springs are one of my favorites, they not only have many different pools that accompany many different ages and water temperatures but also have 2 water slides and a cave. I would recommend no reservations, bringing snacks and water. There are changing rooms, bathrooms and showers inside. Outside there are shelves to put items. Kids are allowed, no life jackets available. We were able to catch a beautiful sunset, water in some places run very hot at 100+

Lissycho Webber — Google review

Great place to soak and relax, especially around sunset. We walked in, paid the fee, changed and quickly walked to a pool. The 1st pool wasn't to hot, it was deeper than the one with the water fall... waterfall pool was warmer by just as relaxing. There are slides that you can go on, for an additional fee, looks fun but we were there for the springs. They have bathrooms and changing stalls. If I'd have known how hard it is to put your clothes back on.... I'm bringing a robe and slippah next time 😁

Mahealani C. — Google review

What a fun place. They tout the highest mineral content of any hot springs. They have various different temperatures in each pool. They even have a cold pool. If you go on the waterslides, the one on the left is much better.

Curtis J Morley — Google review

I have been coming here for over 30 years. We love it here. It has a pool for everyone. The main pool is way relaxing. It has three waterfalls. They change the temperature to keep it warm all year long. They have three smaller pools that are usually for people who love it hot. They are perfect for a snowy, rainy day. They have a cold pool that my kids won't leave. The temperature is still manageable even in winter. They have a shallow mineral pool for kids and an Olympic pool. It's epic.

Off The Beaten Path Adventures and Travel (Adventures) — Google review

Fun place! The water slides made the experience. They were so long and surprisingly fast, and we hardly ever waited longer than 2 minutes even though it seemed very busy during spring break! Some specific areas of pools (with fountains or waterfalls) are extremely hot, while others are just really comfortable.

Brittany Howell — Google review

I didn't take pictures of the pools since they are available on the website. There was no line, and there was plenty of space on the weekend. That being said, just like any hot spring, there are weekends busier than others. There are two small hot pools and several warm pools. I recommend the waterfall to massage the shoulders and back. This is a hot spring with high mineral content, so be prepared for the minerals. They can burn the eye. The restroom facilities and changing room are a bit worn down. The price is $18 with no slide pass. The pool water is clean and is cleaned out and emptied every day. Overall, a great spot to visit.

Esli Morales — Google review

It was fun! Went there without the kids to see how it has changed since I was there 7 years ago. There are a lot of pools with various temps. It is a well managed facility. It's a nice place to chill. Slides can get kind of crazy and weren't our favorite. They have plowed over the campground and will be adding more pools. We went just after it opened at 12:30 and there were hardly any people there. Around 3pm more people started showing up and we left. It was a fun time and we will be back with the kids.Update: We came back with the kids and it wasn't as fun. The Olympic pool was closed because there were no lifeguards available because of school YET there were no lifeguards out there at all and people were in the other pools. Have the front counter people take turns watching the pools and put up a sign "When Lifeguards are not on duty, swim at your own risk." Paying over 50 bucks and we missed out on the largest pool and the best one for kids. Doesn't make sense. There were also a lot of nasty bugs floating in the pool. Come hungry and leave full after consuming them. Disappointed 😔

John Burgoyne — Google review

Great place to soak! Mineral contents are high. There are several different pools and temperatures to enjoy. It's a great family environment. They have a couple of waterslides that the kids really enjoy. The entrance fee is very fair also.

Wendi Olsen — Google review

We stopped on our way and spent almost two hours in the pools and under waterfalls. The facility is generously large, very functional, but no luxury. Rocks and concrete and genuine deep springs water. The chage roooms, the showers, the locker system - everything is very efficient and comfortably, but no typical spa fluff. We liked it a lot and recommend it strongly.

Kosta Milojevic — Google review

I have been coming here for years!!! It has been awesome to see its evolution to what it is now. The springs are a must visit. I highly recommend as it is a great place for a date or a family outing. It is relaxing and all their facilities are accessible. It’s great for kids and adult alike. The slide is fun. The staff are nice. I definitely will be back. You should go for sure.

This was super enjoyable. The atmosphere was peaceful even though there were a lot of people there. I would definitely recommend taking a trip if you enjoy hot springs.

Chesha Bills — Google review

We went on a Friday about an hour after they opened. It wasn't crowded at all (about 30 people). We had minimal contact with the employees, but when we did interact with them they were pleasant. The changing rooms and showers are fairly standard so not much to say about that. I do wish there was maybe some music or something in the pool area, we ended up accidentally listening to everyone else's conversations when we were not speaking to the people in our group

Crystal Hot Springs, Honeyville, Utah, has year round, outdoor mineral hot springs in 4 different large pools. All pools range in temperature. There are also 3 hot tubs and water slides.Pricing is $18 per person, regardless of age and $2.00 more for the water slides. This seems very steep for the rundown Springs. There are generally a lot of kids during the day, but this evening there were many HighCrystal Hot Springs has seen better days. Some of the pools need maintenance such as patching and/or repainting. The locker rooms need attention asap! The shower curtains have pinkish grimy mildew on them and need replaced. The dressing room curtains are not wide enough to cover side to side. You always have at least one side open a couple of inches and they offer little privacy. They do sell snacks, drinks, toiletries and T-shirts. However, they are pricey. (They have a separate camping area next door.)The pools do help with achy muscles and the minerals have healing properties.I have been going to the Springs for years, and I will probably go back for the mineral benefits but my expectations are considerably lower than they once were.

Aggies! A beautiful campus tucked up in the mountains. There are trees everywhere and open fields to play sports or lounge around on a nice warm day. There are a lot of events going on campus wide to keep you busy. What is really great is how the entire community rallies around the university. It is a very unique dynamic and very very fun!

Displeased USU VisitorMy recent experience with USU (assuming you are referring to a university or institution with that acronym) left me feeling incredibly frustrated and dissatisfied. One of the most significant issues that marred my experience was the rampant over-ticketing problem.Over-ticketing at USU has become a serious concern, and it has undoubtedly soured my perception of the institution. It seems as though the primary focus has shifted away from providing a conducive learning environment and towards extracting revenue from its students and visitors through excessive ticketing. The frequency with which I witnessed students and visitors receiving unwarranted tickets was alarming. Whether it was for minor parking infractions, perceived rule violations, or even issues that should have been handled through communication and warnings, it appeared that the institution was more interested in punishing individuals than in fostering a positive and supportive atmosphere.Furthermore, the fines associated with these tickets often felt disproportionately high, placing an undue financial burden on students and visitors who are already struggling with the cost of education and daily living expenses. It's disheartening to see an institution prioritize revenue generation over the well-being and financial stability of its constituents. The over-ticketing issue not only creates a hostile atmosphere but also undermines the trust and respect that students and visitors should have for their educational institution. It fosters an environment where individuals are constantly on edge, fearing that even the slightest misstep will result in another unwarranted ticket. In conclusion, my experience with USU has been marred by the issue of over-ticketing, which has led me to question the institution's priorities and commitment to the well-being of its students and visitors. It is my hope that USU will reevaluate its approach to disciplinary measures and consider more reasonable and fair ways to address rule violations without resorting to excessive ticketing.

I'm just about to graduate with a Master's Degree and have loved my entire experience here. Awesome new buildings, cool old buildings, great professors, and great students who make for great campus life. And you can't leave out the superb outdoor recreation available all around. The PE classes are a blast! To anybody coming to USU I highly suggest taking up rock climbing, mountain biking, trail running, and skiing/snowboarding. There's even a new ski resort opening up that is only 19 minutes away. They just opened up the ARC (Aggie Recreation Center) and my wife and I love the rock climbing and everything else that is available in there. Complete party, great place to learn to become a learner, fun professors, useful clubs and student organizations, all around great place to get your degree or degrees.

Completely upset by the cost of online and zoomed in classes. Why do students live on campus, go to class in a classroom on campus where the teacher is zoomed in. The lack of support for the students to learn in a classroom setting is disappointing. Do you really want future doctors to be online students?

Starting spot for a popular 1.8-mi. hike up to a dramatic viewpoint with arched rock formations.

Easy smooth trail to follow. The only challenge was the elevation gain. Otherwise it was nice and easy. Unfortunately we went on a weekend so it was a bit crowded…as expected. Not terrible but I’m certain it would be really nice on a weekday. Worth the short hike. Interest view and caves for your effort. Recommend.

Jack Rondini — Google review

Super awesome hike, about 2 miles each direction and is pretty steep on the way up. Beautiful views along the entire hike and especially at the end when you reach the cave. We went at about 9 am and got done around 10:45 because we spent a lot of time up top. Beautiful view and beautiful weather today, make sure you bring some water!

This hike is very nice, the trail was challenging at some points, and cave at the top have a great view of the valley. Got there around 7:30 am and there was plenty of parking. However, on the way down, we encountered a fairly steady stream of folks around 9am and parking was filling up. Enjoy!

A pretty steep hike in certain parts but shouldn’t take more than 2 hours roundtrip. The elevation gain can be a lot, so make sure to take stops to breathe and bring water! Way easy on the way back. Beautiful caves!

Emma Curtis — Google review

I'm new to hiking and I would recommend this trail for beginner I think. I did fell down coming down (embarass). Other than that advise trail can be muddy/slushy due to snow and rain. But hey FTW I did enjoy it.

Dong Ly — Google review

Gorgeous hike and the destination is worth the elevation gain. If traveling with young kids the plan for lots of breaks and try to go in the morning before the hot afternoon sun. Bring a lot of water and keep an eye out for snakes. We saw a fairly large one on the trail

Bruce Williams — Google review

Wonderful, wonderful hike!!!Not easy, but totally do-able for anyone! Inclines and switch backs, but with time & water you'll do just fine. Super cool views up top. The cave goes under the look out, and around the side. Worth all the exploring! AllTrails has wonderful tracking if needed, but trail is worn in wonderfully.

C Price — Google review

Beautiful hike up to the wind caves. It was fairly moderate terrain as it was quite a steep climb most of the way. Little to know shade during the day time, but the views are definitely worth the trek!

Elizabeth Diane — Google review

Great hike! Wow! I took my nephews who ranged in age from 9 to 16 and they did great. Bring plenty of water (summer time) and snacks to keep the younger ones energized. The first 1/4 was easy, the middle half was a little steep at points with switchbacks all the way up but the last 1/4 was easy. Amazing views of the canyon, very very pretty! I loved this hike and will be doing it again on our next visit. Be careful with kids at the cave though. There's a drop off on the east side that I would caution parents on.

Dan Larsen — Google review

Great family hike! Moderate exertion. About 4 miles round trip. Note use restrooms somewhere in Logan before the hike as there are no facilities near parking or anywhere along the trail. Bring plenty of water.

Daniel Gladstone — Google review

This was my 4th time up, June 17th. Temps in the high 70s perfect weather light wind. Takes about 45 minutes to 1.5 hours based on your hiking skills. I am 56 and it took about 1 hour but we went slow with our dog. One of the most magical spot around for sure. Trail is rough so really should have good hiking footwear.

Steve Oberaigner — Google review

Beautiful caves! The hike was more on the difficult side with lots of people on the trail. Could be a little dangerous for kids, just use caution. There were lots of drop off points, especially at the cave.

Basic wood cabins with private bathrooms in a simple resort offering pools, casual dining & a spa.

We had a great time and enjoyed the value of their Baby It's Cold Outside special. I could smell the freshly baked cinnamon rolls from the parking lot! The delicious soup was homemade chicken noodle. The servers were friendly and made us feel welcome, as always. Of course we spent plenty of time soaking and relaxing. I just love this place.

Great soaking pools. Clean clear water. Many jets and seating all around. Great facilities. There is a restaurant upstairs that always seems to be attended. I would like to stay at the RV park sometime it sounds like a good time. They also have cabins, houses, yurts, and a schooner you could rent to stay in. Always have had great service from the staff here. Highly recommend.

Made a reservation ONLINE, bring your receipt! luckily I had a copy of the charge to my credit card, they had no record of our reservation. VERY tight spaces in some of the sites and looks like they are trying to utilize every inch for camping. Pool was not bad, crowded, the large slides had short lines, some of the lifeguards were nice and understood the green side down was a huge bummer and let the kids utilize the yellow side down (you'll understand if you go). By and large the crowd is a bit WT, nice neighbors but not afraid to start co*cktail hour at 7 AM and drop F-Bombs.... and they had kids. If you go, highly recommend paying extra for the pull thru sites.

The hot pool hours are much shorter than most places.Do NOT plan any early mornings or after dark fun. Memorial Day weekend they opened at NOON (yes noon!) and closed at 8pm.The room needed to be vacuumed. Lots of bugs.We will not visit again!Small cabins. How small? Very small for the priceWood paneling, bed, TV, futon couch, microwave, shower, mini fridge and just enough room to move around. No outside firewood allowed. The restaurant was the best part and the only reason I added 1-star to make it a 2-star experience. The food was decent and staff were nice in the restaurant. Our family ended up leaving an going to Lava Hot Springs for a much better experience.** Response to their reply**You can SAY different hours, but when you change them after people make reservations, people have trouble believing you. The hours are 8a-11p? That is great, except when you change them at the last moment to 10a-8p on a Holiday weekend.

My wife and I recently visited Downata for the first time. We specifically did the "steak and soak" which involved a ribeye dinner and a soak in the hot pools. For starters, the staff was friendly and helpful throughout the experience, from making reservations earlier in the day, to the great service received during dinner. The food was surprisingly good. From the bread, to the different butters, salad, perfectly-cooked steak, baked potato, chicken alfredo, and cheesecake; it was all fantastic and exceeded expectations. The changing rooms were clean and well kept, and provided all the amenities needed. The soaking pools were warm but not uncomfortably so. We hadn't planned on staying in the pools for long, but we ended up spending the better part of 2 hours in them. There's no better way to enjoy hot pools than on a cold rainy/snowy night.Overall a fantastic experience. We'll definitely be making it at least an annual date night. Highly recommended!

Pictures don't do justice. This is a great place to stay and have a family reunion or event. Fore pits, grills, wild animals out and about makes for a good outdoor experience. Deer, turkey ect. We had a good time. And they have good variety of housing options.

The service of the staff was fantastic. Very accommodating, helpful and attentive. We stayed at the rv park and swam in the pools, played on the slides and ate at the Cafe. A great vacation for the three generations of us, ages 2-60. What fun.

James Hunter — Google review

This place is in the middle of nowhere. We camped in our RV. There is a cafe and the food looked acceptable. There are no official picnic grounds for day users- to push you towers their cafe. The pools and slides are great. The pools are NOT OPEN on Sundays

We had so much fun with our family! We all rented little cabins and stayed over the weekend. The kids had a blast and even my little 3 year old rode the huge hill slides about a hundred times! Lol! Our cabin was well stocked and fit us great! We always have a good time coming here and battling on the volleyball courts! I also absolutely love that they let you bring snacks into the pool because a bunch of us in our group eat very specific. The kids and husband still went to the restaurant and got lots of yummy food and shakes but I love that we have the option! We will be back!

What a hidden gem! Our daughter told us about this hot springs and we decided to check it out and am sure glad we did. Nice facilities, wonderful pools and no crowds. Doesn't get much better than that!

Brian and his wife Trish were so helpful over the top helpful. The rest of the staff was ok, nothing special. However the camp hosts make up for everyone else we encountered. Stayed 1 night had dinner and soaked. The restaurant was decorated so cute for Halloween. Grounds were clean and hot springs well maintained. Dog friendly. Helpful hint if you like wine with dinner you can bring your own with you to be coarked must make dinner reservations by 2pm :) would come back.

We didnt get a room, We went for the "Steak and Soak" and it was fantastic. A ribeye steak, baked potato and the best vegetable stew I've ever had. The place is clean and well organized with a very helpful and friendly staff. The formal dining room is setup and decorated for couples to come in and have a fun, relaxing, intimate dinner. The hot pools are clean, new, well maintained places to just relax and soak in the hot springs water. 2 different pools are provided so you can choose hot or warm. The locker rooms are excellent. Clean organized and plenty of room.We will definitely bring our kids and grandkids out and enjoy the summer activities. They have cabins to rent, yurts, travel trailer spots, tent spaces and even provide a cowboy sleep under the stars experience.

I got to experience the best night ever! My mother and I went to the hot pools which was so peaceful. Then we went and ate at the restaurant, and we had the best service the man that was cooking tonight seriously made my night he was so kind and the food was so delicious I wish I would’ve gotten his name but he did great! 11/15/23

We booked this trip on a whim. And are happy we did. We were looking for a quick getaway within driving distance to SLC. A friend told me about Maple Grove Hot Springs, and explained it was under new ownership (within the past couple of years) and the experience had been improved. We booked the Pine Cabin for our family of four. The cabin was cozy and comfortable. The bedding was lovely and the room came with some incense to burn and a large jar of mineral spring water from the property. The room was also equipped with small wood burning stove, a coffee table, 2 chairs and 2 ottomans. With the endless supply of wood, we were able to keep our cabin warm and absolutely delightful. The hot springs were magical. The kiddos preferred the pool, while the hubby and I preferred the rock pools. The views throughout the property are breathtaking! Being right on the river is completely serene. The property including the pools, walkways and bath house are kept clean and well stocked with supplies. The staff was warm and welcoming! I felt like everyone that walked on the property was appreciated and made to feel comfortable. My only complaint is that I wish we would have stayed 3 nights, rather than 2. But, we are already looking at dates to come back.

Wow! What a little slice of paradise! A friend and I came from Salt Lake City and it was the perfect getaway. We didn’t know what to expect but whatever we were thinking exceeded it. Every pool was clean, very warm, and not as crowded as I anticipated. We stayed in one of the Yurts and was SO cozy! It had a full bed + a twin day bed that both had bedding and made for a great nights sleep. Everything was kept clean and very well stocked. Shout out to Emma for being so kind and helpful when we arrived. This was one of the best experiences I’ve ever had- waking up to a little snow fall, orange & red trees, leaves falling, and some hot springs. Absolute BLISS!I’ll definitely be coming back!

This spot came highly recommended by a dear friend. I would echo every 5 star review here except I wanted to share our personal experience as it was a bit different...We stayed with our FOUR children all under 8 years of age. Everyone was kind, warm and welcoming to us. The kids were VERY excited for their first hot spring experience and we took a lot of time to discuss being quiet, calm & respectful in common areas. Still there were some loud voices at times, several wayward splashes & some tears when we had to leave & get changed in the bath house. Even with all this everyone was understanding and kind.I also can't say enough amazing things about the staff who went out of their way to answer every question I had BEFORE we even arrived. Thank you from a few hopeful parents. :)The location was exquisite. The moon was beautiful at night, you could see so many stars & we even heard owls calling to each other in the evening. The Guest House was so cute with a lovely gift shoppe we all enjoyed. The Granite stone shelter was beautiful in cleanliness and design - holding all we needed and more for a cozy stay. The queen bed, pillows and all the bedding were AMAZING. I was shocked at the quality (and not just because I was a tired parent wanting to sleep)! We stayed mostly in the pool closest to the Guest House under 102 degrees because of the kids. All the pools were simply beautiful, but this one was special. There was a shallow ledge around most of it for our younger girls to sit. The deeper middle portion was nicer for our older kids and the adults. The whole experience was so magical, relaxing, & tiring (haha... kids!). And the best part... we definitely made some core memories! See you soon Maple Grove... thanks for the soaks & love!

We booked ourselves a night at the Forest Yurt and it exceeded our expectations. It was very nice and comfortable. We felt pampered. Greg and Ellen were such amazing hosts and made sure we had everything we needed. The hot springs were well maintained and clean. The scenery was worth every penny by itself. Thank you for such a wonderful stay.

Aja Martin — Google review

This place is perfect, the night I spent there was bitter cold, but the pools were hot and relaxing. The stone shelter felt like a luxury hotel that somehow blended with the surrounding natural landscape, and though it was a little rustic building a fire in the wood stove to heat the room, it somehow just added to the experience. The staff was kind and accommodating. It just really felt like the whole experience was designed to relax away modern day stress and melt back into nature. 100% will be going back.

Justin Lang — Google review

Lovely! A perfect combination of natural beauty and established. Lots of different pools to chose from. Has peaceful and grounding energy. The only thing I’d be wary of is driving the dirt road in the snow! They said they usually have it plowed, but that the company that does it is closed for the holidays. The road is narrow and if you slip you could go off the edge towards the river. We had some scary moments on the drive! But, it seems like that isn’t the norm(: All in all a great memory

I write this with a heavy heart. Im kinda afraid that this place will become to popular. I have been here a few times. The last with my child this spring (2023),-if you call it that-. It was a winter wonderland. My kiddo said no less than 20 times how cool and wonderful this place is. We were fortunate enough to get to stay in one of the new "Rock Cabins". it was such a cool, awesome and great experience. When your not hanging out in one of the many pools with variable temperatures. You can chill in your own private place. We did the tent last year. That was another amazing experience. Not what i was expecting at all. i thought it would be just a tent. nope it was like something out of a Ernest Hemingway book. Deer were just chilling out, Bald Eagles overhead and coyotes in the distance. The team that runs this place is also very kind and helpful. I cant sing there praises enough. it was about as relaxing and cool as a person could wish for. I have stayed in no less than 2000 hotels/motels/BnB. this is my favorite!

M Withers — Google review

I'm trying to leave the best and most constructive review possible hence the 4/5.First of all, maybe monitor the noise levels of neighboring camps if this is a place of healing and peace with no drinking allowed. All I heard the entire time was "ARLO!!!!!! Come here! ARRRRLOOOOOOOOOO come here" and other neighboring camps full-on partying. When we finally got to the tubs it was the same story, no peace and quiet, just loudly complaining about corporate which is why we were there to escape.Loudly meaning we weren't even in the same pool. The gift shop is cool but doesn't have a thing that's practical. Up to a medium-sized hoodie for like $70, nothing larger. No sandals if yours break, no hot water for tea but tea is out.Directions are not consistent at all. It says the road is closed at some heavy machinery towards Preston, but it's not. We even tried to drive up and over towards 36 before "their road" but our vehicle wouldn't have made it. So when we asked where to fish we were told we could fish ON the property as long as we were far away from guests. We went to a spot near the machinery and were approached. "Are you a guest? Yes. Well, you can't fish on this property. Well we asked and we were told we could away from the guests, we asked about this spot. Well, you were told wrong. You have to go past the cattle guard. And I'm trying to be quiet so you can fish. What? Its a deal with the "nature conservancy"?We moved on and met some really awesome people that were more than welcoming, helped us with bait ideas, and yes the road does go through as of 7/7 to the narrows. They didn't have very nice things to say about the spring's new ownership however. The only ADA-friendly place here is a van site because I can't wheelbarrow my belongings UP to my site, that was fine but I could probably easily do a shelter or yurt but they aren't dog friendly, so with all the loading and unloading I had 1 option, and I'm not even that bad off, like I'm not limited to a device. And if you bring a dog beware, there are ticks everywhere even with them being sprayed.I bet this place is amazing if you have a yurt or a shelter, but you can't bring your dog in those which is a huge bummer, especially when you're a limitedly abled person. All in all, I waited to use the bathroom, and tried to get out of the heat, we soaked maybe 30 minutes total in 4 days which was disappointing. That night sky and that river though? Yeah that cannot be beat. I hope there's some changes made, especially for the price. Thanks for reading!PS The fishing is amazing, so much fun! The dogs loved the river so much.

We went for the 'Daily Soak' and it was an amazing experience! Mel and Sage were the firsts to greet us at the door - very kind and welcoming. Nice, clean, relaxing environment - and the natural surroundings are breathtaking! We will definitely visit again soon and book an overnight stay. Thank you all for making our experience so positive!

Angie — Google review

This location is amazing! The grounds are well-maintained and inviting, with a large, open pool area, and three smaller circular pools of varying temperatures. A number of yurts and some small cabins with natural stone walls are available to rent. A premium is placed on maintaining a quiet environment. Children are definitely not the vibe.

George Joeckel III — Google review

I absolutely loved the atmosphere here! The staff was extremely helpful and so nice. The Juniper Yurt was clean, comfortable and stylish! However., the bed was a bit unstable. Not necessarily for a big guy like my fiancé. We will definitely be back!!

Codi Bray — Google review

One of the best. Quiet, peaceful, great water. No sulphuric smell. We go as often as we can, never had a bad experience. Pools are clean and pleasant, but watch your step getting in and out they can be slick. Never overcrowded, but we go on Sundays. Be quiet and expect to sit, relax, and enjoy the calm and you’ll have a great time.

Joe Lewis — Google review

Wow!!! Where to start….I was looking for a place to spend with my boyfriend for his birthday. In past years his birthday has kinda sucked so I was on a mission to make it a good one. I looked at hotel rooms all over the place found nothing that was his speed until I came across Maple Grove on a website that was all about hidden gem stays. He is an outdoorsy dude, so I figured this was right up his ally.First of all the pictures do not do this place justice. The time and pride they put into their grounds is absolutely amazing. Not to mention all of the amenities that arnt even included on the details of the site.We stayed in the quartz shelter. Not only was it absolutely stunning inside with quirky little additions like yoga mats, floor and meditation pillows, robes, rustic decor, and tarot cards but the view of the river and canyon in the morning was unreal. It also came with cook ware to use on the wood burning stove. It was quiet, peaceful and private, exactly what I was looking for. We had full 24 hr access to the pools and in the morning we were served coffee in the river house. There was no service which honestly made it so much better. Unplugging from the world for a minute so that we could fully find each other was just what we needed. The grounds are clean well taken care of.All in all if you are looking for a place to find yourself or to become more in tune with your partner, this romantic hide out is perfect. The drive in is a bit scetchy (thank goodness for 4 wheel drive) but it made the adventure all worth it once we got there. Also the staff….on point!!! We felt totally comfortable and welcome. Thank you for sharing such a magical place with the rest of the world.

This is one of my favorite place to come and just relax and connect more with nature and the people I come with. It's magical all winter long. The hotsprings are just right and I love that I get to unplug from my phone and be present in my time here.

What a wonderful place! Everyone was extremely helpful and accommodating. The scenery is beautiful. I car camped and the spot was clean, shaded and just perfect. We stayed at one of the two van sites. It was fine. Cute little bathroom and close to the pools. Calming and chill vibe. Lovely items in the gift shop lobby. Coffee and tea available in the morning. Aquatic yoga in the snow was exquisite. Views are lovely. We will be back.

Great place for the whole family! We loved the slides and towers! The 3rd platform is a MUST! Just don't do a belly flop! 😕 The diving boards are great and it's fun to see people do some amazing tricks. Great area for little kids as well as for the Irish red heads who need an indoor pool in the heat of the day. There's a diving board and rock wall to climb is a well. Lots of fun here!

Super fun and a little crazy! We stopped by on our way home and had a lot of fun. There was something for everyone. We spent a bit of time in the little kid/ toddler area and my 18 month old loved it. Our 7 yo daughter loved the water slides (thankfully she was tall enough to do all of them) and the little kid area too.The hot tub at this complex is HOT! It feels nice, but can be crowded with lots of people. We ended up buying the combo pass for this complex and the hot springs. Please note that it is 4 blocks away and is NOT located at the Lava Hot Springs Inn which is across the street. If you've got little kids in tow, it may make more sense to drive over-- there is a parking lot for the hot springs.Overall, it was a nice visit!

We love Lava! We have been coming here for our family reunions for the last 12 years. Our grandchildren have so much fun. The kiddie splash pool is a great addition. The only suggestion we have is to create more ventilation. If all of the windows could open to create cross ventilation, the humidity would be more tolerable. Thanks for having such a fun venue!

This place is awesome! I could have spent a summer going here everyday easily. There's room to fit so many people comfortably and the water was warm enough even for a cool day. Slides were FANTASTIC! There were so many places to dive and flip:)

We went in February, so this is about the indoor pool area only. Very nice, clean and well maintained facilities. Indoor pool with diving board and mini basketball hoops. I recommend diving toys and floating balls for catch. Kiddie pool is basically an indoor splash Park with very warm water- perfect for the little ones. Hot tub was extremely hot so you either won't be able to stay in long or won't be able to get in at all. Vending machines for soda, and behind the ticket counter there are some snacks available for purchase. There is no place to sit in the lobby area to eat food.

Christy Tietjen — Google review

Great fun! Water temperatures were great, some really hot, steam rising off water hot. 112 degree water and then cooler ones.

Keira Young — Google review

The place is fun for the whole family. The indoor kitty pool will keep the little ones entertained. Next to the kitty pool is a hot pool. With water straight from the springs. It is very relaxing and is the perfect temperature. Outside the big pool has it all. The shallow end all the way to the high dive platforms. With 3 levels 16ft, 23ft and a towering 33ft. You must sign a waiver and and listen to some instructions before jumping. There is no waiver needed to ride the slides. There are also 2 food vendors inside the pool area. Definitely will be going back again.

Teyen Hollingsworth — Google review

Went to the inside pool. The kiddy area was nice and had toys the kids could play with and was great for younger kids. We were there for three hours and the same people sat in the hot tub the whole time so we couldn’t take a turn. Might be a good idea to do time limits or wrist bands with times. The main pool is huge and has a cool rock wall and diving board with some basketball hoops. However, the water was freezing cold.

Ashlee Tucker — Google review

This swimming pool is very well run. There are activities for all ages ...a kiddie pool, pool basketball area, 1 hot tub, slides for different thrill levels and ages, multiple diving areas, pool areas that slope down, and pool areas that step down. The water feels great and varies in coolness according to what pool you select. No concessions here, but you are allowed to bring in your own food (NO GLASS). You can also bring in pool toys (within reason) and chairs and umbrellas. There are no refunds for bad weather. This swimming complex also offers swim lessons in the spring and summer!

We came here with a group of 25 and were able to get group rate. This was our day off for our girls wrestling team. The place is so clean and inviting and much to do. Got some sun, water fun on the slides and then walked over to Lava hot Springs.

The Slides outside and the splash park indoor makes this a top destination for the kiddos. He begs me to go back and they offer amazing swim lessons for all ages.

For $12 you get an all day pass to an excellent swimming experience. They have four waterslides. The water was very warm in the big pool and they had two or three indoor pools plus a hot tub. They also had three diving boards and three diving platforms. You can do a special deal with the hot springs and the swimming area for $18. All of the staff is very kind.

Natural hot springs offering several outdoor pools with different temperature levels, plus a shop.

Place was awesome, soaked for about an hour and 10 minutes. Payed $10 a person for unlimited time as long as we didn’t leave the pools.Parking spot is right across the road and you just walk down to the pools pay for your entrance and time for a good soak.Friendly staff, and very family friendly environment. Pools from warm to pretty hot. Highly recommend for the price.

I went to this place 2 times in the last week on our family road trip. I found it very clean and well maintained with the amount of people that go through there. It has a ton of visitors each day I was there. We did bring 3 of our children and they all liked it as well. There are strict rules about splashing and actual swimming etc. Which I find nice for the atmosphere it's trying to breed. Would definitely suggest going there I'd you are able to.

Andrew Bartlett — Google review

This was a very fun hot springs to visit. There are multiple pools, each with a different degree in temperature. The price on the weekends is $12 for adults. The price during the week is $8 for adults. They have lockers, but unfortunately it costs 50¢ to actually lock. They have a change machine, so be sure to have some dollar bills handy otherwise you’ll have $4.50 in quarters. There are showers and a changing room for both genders. Parking is across the street or on the street. If you park on the street use your ebrake and turn your wheels to the curb. Overall, I do see me coming back, but during the week when it’s cheaper.

This place was very wonderful. The nice thing is they have pools with different temperature for 105 to 112 degrees F.The have indoor and outdoor lockers the indoor lockers are smaller than the outdoor onesThe out door locker can fit a large gym bag the cost of the large locker is 1$ and the indoor locker is 50 cents.

Such good water! Love all the different pool temps. Great facilities. They use to have a swimsuit spinner dryer that was really cool. I think it was 10F degrees but the water was awesome. Highly recommended. Also this is a great town.

We had an amazing time at the Lava Hot Springs. My son really enjoys hot tubs and he said this was the perfect way to end our trip from Yellowstone and Grand Tetons on our way back to California. We enjoyed the different pools with different temps ranging from 102 to 105, 106 to 110, and the 112 pool was incredibly hot we could only dip our toes in. We could definitely see the natural bubbling in the hotter pools.

It's my first time going to a hot spring and I was surprised at how fun it was. The hotest pool was at 115 degrees, while the coolest one was at 105, it was nice with the weather being so cold to have the two temperature s balance out.

This place is amazing! Best hot springs we've ever been to. They have bathrooms, showers and 5 different pools ranging from hottest to bath water. The water and the facilities are well maintained and the staff are friendly. Just bring and drink plenty of water. No other food or drinks are allowed.

Summer visit, amazing hot springs we visit at halfway between Yellowstone and SLC (3 hrs). Free Parking lot cross street, payment at entrance office Friday to Sunday is $12/pp, Monday to Thursday is $8. For a extra you can use the swimming pool. 5 pools with diferente temperatures 102-105, 105, 105-110, 110. Start with the coolest and soak for 10-15 minutes max per pool (my recommendation), restrooms, dressing rooms and 2-quarter lockers are available. Opens at 8am, we enter with 4-6 at that time on Friday.

Beautiful, relaxing and clean place. They have pools at different temperatures, just be careful not to stay to long in the pools and stay hydrated. The town is small, but quiet, relaxing and beautiful.

Javier Alvarez Gaona — Google review

It is so clear and clean with no Sulfur smell. From the hotest pool 112° to the coolest 103°, also with two tubs with jets it feels so good to sink down in the water to soak. The gardens are beautiful and very well maintained. The staff are so kind and helpful.

Paula Rowe — Google review

We found the hot springs very well organized and clearly labeled on water temps. The ramps into each pool allowed everyone in our group to adjust to water temps (toddler to senior). The 112F pool has the best shade on the grounds. After soaking we toured the secret garden. It seems to be the same property but only accessible from a path to the east and up the hill behind the historical sign. The garden was very serene and provided plenty of spots to sit and escape the heat. There's a small natural lava cave along the trail. About 2ft high, so be careful to watch your head when in and exciting.

I was just in Thermopolis so I figured I'd try the Hot Springs here too. There is a nominal entrance fee. Bathrooms, showers and lockers. Various pools at different temperatures. Most people were in the coolest of them which I believe is between 102°-105°. They go up to I think 116°. I felt a bit like Goldilocks finding out which one I liked best. I settled on the small pool at 105° and stayed there for 15-20 mins and then moved to the larger cooler pool for a few. Before I left I did dip in the hottest of the pools just for a couple minutes. Couldn't do that for too long. All felt very nice and relaxing though. Definitely worth it.

Roberta Peek — Google review

My family loves the atmosphere here. Very relaxing with varying pool temps from 102-112 degrees. Clean facilities and nice staff.

Awesome natural hot pools located off the beaten path know a tiny town. Clean locker rooms and pool decks along with multiple pools of varying Temps to let you find just the right setting for your desired heat level.

This hot spring is well maintained. There are multiple pools, most well shaded with awnings, with a variety of temperatures - clearly marked. There are good sized changing and showering areas. The employees are friendly and helpful. It was $10 with no reentry. We would return here.

The world famous Lava Hot Springs are worth the stop. The water feels amazing, the facility is clean, and the staff is extra helpful.

This is a place our family makes several trips to every year. The hot springs has been a fun tradition. This makes for a easy, laid back and relaxing vacation. The reason for 2 star review is because the changes and rules over the past several years have gotten a little obnoxious and the cost for entry continues to increase. They are really strict about banning "outside drinks" including water. Today we waited in line while the staff searched every bag of every patron. Re-usable water bottles had to be dumped out prior to entry. It makes no sense. In the past, your entry was valid all day, that is no longer the case. We used to soak a little in the morning, head out to hit one of the local restaurants, then return to soak in the evening. That's not an option anymore which makes enjoying the springs with hungry kids a lot harder than it used to be. The cost of entry for a family is high enough now that it would be hard to justify paying twice so you soak until the kids get hungry and leave. Maybe that's exactly what the owners want.

Ryan Tuttle — Google review

Visited on a Saturday. Was there from 6pm-8 pm and it was crowded. Two hours was more than enough for me. The pools have different temperatures. The lowest temperature was 102 degrees and it was perfect. Make sure you take plenty of water. I paid $12 and there was no time limit. Very clean facility with bathrooms and changing rooms. I’ve been to Crystal Hot Springs in Utah and have to say that Lava Hot Springs is better.

Specialty Museums

Modern museum showcasing exhibits on historic cleaning techniques & tools, with brooms, tubs & more.

The Museum of Clean is a really fun experience. The displays are clever and informative, with just enough “potty humor” to please even the most conservative of crowds. There are lots of interactive displays that leave you wondering just how anyone managed to have a clean house before a fusion vacuum and modern plumbing. The museum imparts the idea of being clean, not just how to clean. Definitely a worthwhile visit if you have a free afternoon.

We weren't sure what to expect but it was a fun time. Our daughters loved the Kid Planet! We all learned a lot about the history of cleaning. It was all really interesting and it was fun to see it! Staff were friendly and at it was our first time, she made sure we knew where everything was.

Most highly recommend this delightful, unique museum! You will not regret it! They also have things for children. I loved all the history and creativity found there. Thanks Don for your vision to a truly enjoyable place. I took over 100 pictures, but here are some. I loved the sculptures, art gallery, clean orchestra, the vacuum floor, etc!

You don't know the meaning of clean until you have been here! This may just have been the quirkiest of all the quirky places we've been so far on our cross country road trip. 100% worth the modest admission fee. Interesting, fun, funny. Exhibits for everyone, young and old. It was a very great way to spend a couple of hours. Very valuable!

Incredible experience for the whole family! This museum offers an abundance of knowledge on cleaning like never before. It's the realization of one man's remarkable dream. Don, the visionary behind it all, can often be found strolling through the museum, ready to answer any questions. If you're fortunate enough to encounter him, I strongly urge you to seize the opportunity and engage in a conversation.

Really amazing! I had no idea this place existed! They had fun things for the kids to do such as cleaning laundry in a bucket with a plunger washer thing and then they could run it through a ringer and then pin it on a clothes line.Vacuums for days! It's good clean fun 😆

Bird Fleck — Google review

Super interesting and pleasantly surprised at the variety. Very interactive, kiddos loved the kid dome and Texas sized object scavenger hunt. We could have spent more time there if kiddos weren't hungry, so definitely plan to spend a few hours. Definitely worth checking out, even if you don't like to clean 👌

May not have been something I was terribly interested in, but once I stepped inside this huge museum, the passion of the owner, Don Aslett was quite apparent. He has dedicated his life to building a world wide cleaning Co, writing books, and collecting thousands of rare cleaning items such as vacuums, brooms, mops, etc. and placing them on display. The staff was very friendly and as a Harvest Host guest, we are thankful for the night's stay.

Such a cool museum, I’ve never seen so many vacuums! Also the owner talked to us and showed us how some vacuums works, he is so passionate and it was contagious. Well worth the time and cheap price!

We visited the museum in September while we were In town for a ISU-Central Arkansas football game the next day. The group I was with didn’t know what to expect, but we were pleasantly surprised by what we found & the extent to which this museum was presented! It was fun to learn about the cleaning industry while we all told stories about how a certain product played a part in our lives whether us using a product or or parents or grandparents using a product, or any type of commercials we remembered seeing. The museum itself was plenty big enough for their exhibits, & not shockingly at all, it was very clean. We were able to explore at our own pace which we enjoyed as well. Overall, I thoroughly enjoyed our side trip to the museum & would tell others to go there if they ever find themselves in Pocatello!

Steve Owens — Google review

What a cool place to visit. Had the honor of speaking with the creator and long time clean freak Don. His love and passion for "clean" are reflected in his great sense of humor. I enjoyed not only the exhibits but the cool art made from repurposed materials as well as his personal art collection on display. Thanks DonMissouri

Valarie Mceuen — Google review

Ok, so I have been to maybe hundreds of museums in my 60+ years. This one is totally "unique"! Meets the definition of "1-of-a-kind" to the T! I could have spent hours, but we were passing through and could only give an hour to the collection! Amazing collection for a man passionate about the finer art of cleaning! And yes, that is the founder Don laying back in the chair in the photo. They assured me he is only napping ! Got to check this place out if you are nearby just to appreciate what we conveniently use every day!

Exhibits on the history & cultivation of potatoes in a former train depot with a cafe & gift shop.

This museum is great. Very informative. They have videos that teach you things like how McDonalds makes their fries. Great collection of Mr Potato head toys and a wall of potato mashers. Definitely visit the cafe while you are there. We had the loaded baked potato, tots, hand cut fries with fry sauce and the best potato soup ever!! Worth a visit if you’re in the area.

You can either start at the cafe or the gift shop to enter the museum. There is a lot of parking and even multiple spots great for RVs.We entered at the gift shop. It had shirts, shot glasses, cups, along with multiple other trinkets, and a penny squish machine. We got some postcards and shot glasses and they were put in a mesh potato sack bag and got a package of locally grown dehydrated mashed potatoes which was entertaining. The cafe had baked potatoes with a variety of toppings, fries, tots, soup, and drinks. It smelled wonderful and we smelled potatoes for a while after. And the museum had a lot of information on... Potatoes. Along with antique and ancestral potato shaped and used items, a video, toys, kitchen appliances, talking potatoes, farm equipment, VR experience on a tractor and watching them till and moves potatoes, and a play area with Mr potato head. The reason for 4 stars... I though it was entertaining and fun but my husband found it less entertaining and said he probably wouldn't pick to go again. He was expecting real potatoes or fake planter boxes to show how more home grown ones are done too apparently.

We stopped at the potato museum in Blackfoot, Idaho. This is a simple, smaller, low tech museum. It’s small town and charming, not big budget.I’m surprised it’s not larger given the impact of potatoes on the state of Idaho. Here’s what I recommend1. Take photos of the giant potato in front of the building. There’s a smart phone holder out front so you can take photos without someone holding the phone.2. Visit the gift shop, pay for your tickets and enjoy the kitzch (spelling?).From potato soap to quirky potato peelers, there are a lot of fun items. The t-shirts could be much more fun than they are.3. Watch the talking potatoes in the basem*nt that put on a little show.4. Don’t miss the virtual reality experience. My favorite was the virtual reality ride on a 🥔 harvester. There are just 2 headsets but worth the short ride.5. Watch the the short film about McDonald’s french fries. And see the large potato chip.6. Admire the potato masher display that’s artistic.7. Go to the cafe and order a potato, fries or soup. Notice the potato print curtains.Beast potato ever! You get it within 5 mins and it’s piping hot with the noise divine fluffy soft inside. The potatoes are cooked at 400-500 degrees (there was some debate). Wrapped in foil. Cooked until soft and keep in a warmer at 140 degrees.Russset narcoda is the kind of potato. Don’t poke holes in them.We got a cupcake made with potatoes. Really good. I added sour cream, green onions, butter and tomatoes. So delicious!! And the waffle fries were incredible - fresh and hot. You can get ketchup and/or fry sauce. It’s very affordable too. Both the admission ($6 for adults) and the cafe.Take lots of photos.Overall, this could have a photo backdrop with a large potato inside. Displays of largest record breaking potatos. Am interactive display. Better more recent videos about the process and better games. It could be in a larger space. But it’s affordable and down home. Also there’s a great candy shop across the street with excellent ice cream (bubble gum with gummy bears, for example).

We had an excellent visit except when leaving the girl closing the museum was rude. As we were leaving the museum (through the gift shop). She told us ‘I’m locking up now’. It was uncomfortable - I tried to explain that we weren’t trying to enter the museum and that we were leaving after viewing. There’s also a cafe here. I ordered some yummy fries and my partner ordered chili fries. If it weren’t for the rude service when we were exiting I would definitely recommend visiting this place if you have an hour so spare. Also if you’re from out of state you get a free instant potato packet. If you have AAA or military ID they offer a small discount on admission.

I must admit, I was pleasantly surprised by the Idaho Potato Museum. The building appears small; however, the museum is rather grand. Inside you'll find information starting from native America, ending in the modern day. They have paraphernalia of all kinds including farming, baking, alcohol, commercial, and toys. You can even see a potato signed by Al Gore! They have two virtual reality headsets that allow you to see a potato harvest and computers with games. There is a small theater; however, I wasn't able to watch the show because the kiddos were happily taking me all over the museum .There are public restrooms in the museum that are amazingly clean and smell that way too. Overall, a fascinating place and I'm happy to have gone. There is a small gift shop with some fun items and the staff were friendly and personable. In a word, awesome.Lastly, the potato bar is very yummy and reasonably priced. Try the fried potato dollars, absolutely fabulous. We highly recommend a visit!

This place is so much fun. I never knew there was so much to learn about potatoes! It costs a small amount to go into the museum portion but it's worth the money. They have a neat little gift shop and also a cafe with All Things Potatoes to eat. Super fun!

The evening was peaceful in the parking lot. The train came through at 4am. Four out of five of us in our party slept through the horn noise. The store had a great and unique selection. The museum was actually informative, interesting, and interactive. The adults learned a few things as did the kids. The cafe was delicious with great prices. We first thought this would be a tourist trap but quickly realized it was a delightful experience.

I had a lovely experience here on a random Friday afternoon. It was very interesting learning about potatoes. I was surprised on all there is to know about them. How they grow, harvest, transport, types, history, etc. At the end, they have a restaurant where you can dine in.I had a very lovely baked potato for lunch and a huckleberry flavored soda crafted in Jackson Hole. I bought a really nice cotton T-shirt from their gift shop.

Kapra C-R — Google review

This place is SO COOL!!! We drove 12 hours and were not disappointed. There's actually a lot of hands-on things for all ages and the exhibits are informative. If you come here, you definitely should at least get fries from the cafe. They have a different garnish for their baked potatoes every day. We had sausage gravy during our visit to the museum. We came back the second day just to go to the cafe and got chili and cheese on a baked potato. I definitely recommend a visit here if you're anywhere near Idaho.

Awesome little stop. Excellent walking trails. Doesn’t take long to go the long route and read all the signs. I can dream of what lava flows would look like! So cool. Don’t litter people, I saw the bottles and trash in some cracks out there. Be better.

Justin Marhold — Google review

What a perfect diversion! These “south” trails are located at the rest stop. Clean bathroom, but some barriers to entry for wheelchair users. The path is paved, and provides some benches for those who need a break. A more ambulatory wheelchair user will be ok, but someone that requires help will definitely need it. The sign says the red loop is 45 minutes to transit but it’s not. Took me about 20. There are many nice things to see, and the interpretive signs are helpful. I also spied some great protected picnic tables. I visited during autumn after a rain in the morning, and it was such a nice little walk.

KatG — Google review

I recently had the pleasure of exploring the Hell's Half Acre trail and I must say, it was an incredibly enjoyable experience. What made this hike particularly special was the fact that it was suitable for hikers of all ages and fitness levels. I embarked on this adventure with two toddlers and an 11-year-old, and we encountered no difficulties throughout the entire trip. One of the standout features of the Hell's Half Acre trail is the paved path. This made the hike a breeze, as we didn't have to worry about rough terrain or tricky footing. The trail is well-maintained, with clear signs guiding us along the way. We also appreciated the presence of benches and picnic tables, providing us with opportunities to rest and enjoy a snack in the midst of our adventure. The view along the trail is simply breathtaking. The volcanic rock formations in Idaho are unlike anything I've ever seen before. The unique geological features provided a fascinating backdrop to our hike, and we couldn't help but marvel at the natural beauty surrounding us.Overall, I would highly recommend the Hell's Half Acre trail to anyone looking for a fun and family-friendly hiking adventure. The paved path, clear signage, and stunning volcanic rock formations make for a truly memorable experience. Whether you're an experienced hiker or just starting out, this trail has something for everyone. Don't miss out on the opportunity to explore this hidden gem in Idaho.

August 22, 2021. A nice surprise. I've driven by here from time to time during my life but for once, I pulled over. I went to the top of the building before taking the little hike. It's all sidewalk so I didn't even need to change shoes. The walk takes you to an upper level and all along the way there are interpretive signs; very nice ones at that. You can observe this very rough topography interspersed with some desert-like flora. There are significant cracks and holes in the earth. I did take pictures and made a video as well.

Hell’s Half Acre Trail is adjacent to the Rest Stop off the Southbound I-15. Pathway has informative markers about the areas volcanic past. Pathway leads to a gazebo where your can overlook the Pilot Buttes.

One of the nicest, cleanest rest stops I've visited. Interesting signage describes the geologic past of the region, with short trails. Dog park, nice bldg with restrooms and intensive signage as well. If you're traveling thru ID on I-15, it's worth a stop.

Zoo

Zoos & Aquariums

A broad range of international animals on display, plus a petting zoo & bird aviary, spring to fall.

You can never go wrong with a guick trip to this zoo. My grandson loves it here and enjoys seeing all his "friends". We come here enough that he knows where all his favorites are. The animals are all well cared for and the enclosures are very natural looking. This year there are at least 3 new babies!

Carolyn Neblett — Google review

This is a great zoo! There are lots of animals to see and they are clearly well taken care of. I had a great time at zoo with my friends. It wasn’t too crazy expensive and it wasn’t crowded at all. We felt that we got our moneys worth for sure. It would be a great activity for families. I enjoy animals and so all the signs with the animal information was great. I thought some of the animals they had there were really cool.

Nikolas Steele — Google review

This little zoo is fabulous. I was pleasantly surprised at the assortment of animals that this Zoo has. The way it is set up is perfect. On a hot day you are in the shade which was very nice. The landscaping was beautiful. My little family and I totally enjoyed every aspect of the zoo. The grounds were well maintained. If you haven't been, you should go. You won't be disappointed

Charlene Sherry Kay Seres — Google review

This Zoo is extremely affordable and worth the money. You get to see lots of wildlife, even when some animals aren't in the outside enclosures. This was a good use of my afternoon/a few hours, and I'll likely come again

Ruth Evans — Google review

I really enjoyed our experience at the Idaho falls zoo. I took my family of four and we got there early morning on a weekday. It was very beautiful and well put together. They had a wide assortment of different animals and some that are unique to this specific zoo. Our favorite parts were the African safari and the monkey house. The monkeys were extremely fun to watch, they were very active and funny to watch swing around. My only gripe was the fact that it was a field trip day for local schools. The zoo had booths set up where the kids can learn about different things in the ecosystem. The location of these booths could have been better to minimize the impact on the non-school going patrons. Also I felt like a lot of animals were off exhibit during our visit. They did have a small visitor center with a gift shop. But when I say small I mean small.

Brayden Workman — Google review

It is a pretty small zoo. But the price is very cheap and everyone that works there is very friendly. We are from alabama so it was cool seeing the different types of animal they have there that we don’t have at the zoos around us. I would say it’s definitely worth a trip if you have a couple hours you want to burn.

Jaciene Mann — Google review

Such a well kept and friendly zoo! All of the animals seemed like they were getting enrichment and genuinely seemed happy and healthy! The staff were really nice too. We loved the layout as well and how easy it was to navigate and see everything. Also extremely clean and well kept!

This place was a lot bigger than I expected and it was really well kept. Normally zoo's stink but I didn't smell anything until I hit the zebras! Very impressed with their collection of animals, cleanliness and informative signs! First time my daughter got to see any animals and we both had a blast! From seeing our favorite animals (flamingos and donkeys), learning about new animals and feeding goats- it was the perfect way to spend family time! Thank you so much guys!

Heather Sharp — Google review

This zoo is the perfect size. Cost is reasonable. Cart rental(recommended for toddlers ) was $5. I loved that they give you a token to pick which animal you would like the conservation money to go to. The place was clean and the staff were friendly. It’s a great place for a family to spend the day. My kids loved the penguins, primates, and big cats enclosures.

This is the best zoo I have been to based on how happy and healthy the animals are. They have great exhibits and all seemed to be well fed and cared for. A++ will be back yearly.

Hailey Woodworth — Google review

This is a fun zoo to visit. It's amazing what you'll experience when the animals are actually active and playing. Also, there is a peaco*ck that roams free among us, doing its "call of the wild" as it wanders. If you do visit this zoo, I'm posting my pictures if you ever want to go on a scavenger hunt and find the objects in my pictures.

Malachi Goodman — Google review

The zoo itself was nice and shady. Able to walk around, see animals, the Lion and Lioness were pretty cool. The tamarins are my favorite. I will say the zoo is smaller and enclosures are as well. however the kids zoo was cool. The public bathrooms were pretty gross unfortunately.

Sarah R — Google review

We loved the zoo! It was clean and the animals were healthy and energetic. The staff was helpful and friendly. It's the perfect size for a half day. Prices are very affordable.

Harvey Beacham — Google review

We enjoyed Boo at the Zoo Friday evening. It was chaotic, but still fun. I recommend better signage to navigate the crowd, maybe a policy on strollers because that was a nightmare with the lines.

Tara Marie — Google review

I have been to see several zoos across the country. This one was not a favorite. The penguin enclosure has too many animals for the very small enclosure. The pool was extremely mucky and the stench burned our noses. Very strong ammonia smell. They have quite a few animals for this small acreage of zoo, including several large cats. Lions, snow leopards, then smaller cats as well. Bored, Many are pacing in their very small enclosures. The flamingos are also in a small pen and again it smells strongly of ammonia.

Museum

Children's museum

Established in 2003, this museum features exhibits on science & regional history, plus archives.

Went for the last day of the BodyWorlds: Animal Inside Out exhibit. It was way cool. After going through that exhibit, my boyfriend and I walked through the rest of the museum. I enjoyed it. I would definitely go back for future exhibits.

Stacy Filipek — Google review

Amazingly detailed exhibits! I attended the Genghis Khan exhibit, and I was very impressed. The infographics contained a lot of information, but they were easy to read as well. The highlight of my visit was the live music exhibit. It was amazing to see the musicians perform with the traditional Mongolian instruments!

Anne Marie Frandsen — Google review

The animal encounters are wonderful and engaging for kids and parents. The current exhibit is rainforest themed and we all enjoyed all the animals. There are a lot of other interesting things to see in addition to the rainforest creatures. We will definitely be back to explore more.

KYLER STOWE — Google review

What a true treat stopping at this museum was. I learned so much about the state of Idaho, from the native American Indian tribes to the farming history to the types of gems that can be found in the state, etc. The stuffed animals on display were fascinating, as were the storefront displays with information about certain items. I could tell that whoever contributed to putting the displays together cared a great deal about what he/she was doing. The native American Indian artifacts were incredible! I enjoyed seeing so much handcrafted materials as well as the artifacts of people who lived on the homesteads in the state in the past. Learning about some of the plants that grow in the area peaked my interest, and there was a great description of the sagebrush that I came across. Everything was intriguing at the Museum of Idaho. It was a trip well worth it, in my opinion and I would go back again. There's quite a bit to see.

Reannah Jones — Google review

Great museum to visit. We must have spent 3 hours here looking around and reading the exhibit signs. The special exhibition was Genghis Khan. There was also history about Idaho, the Wild West and prehistoric animals from around the area. Great museum to visit!

Kristina Hensley — Google review

Lack of wheelchair access to certain areas of the museum, otherwise very decent experience. My 11 year old son had a really good time.

Well what is to say about this museum, it does change so thus review can be a hard one! Currently on 10-18-2021 the exhibit is "Animals Inside out" and I must say it was super cool! I've never had a bad experience or tour of what's been in the museum ever so,I suggest the museum to anyone visiting, passing through, looking to kill time, or even just the joy of museums! They have a great section (large) about Idaho falls, filled with so much information, and the staff is always friendly.

Destinee Speas — Google review

We went to see the Ghengis Khan exhibit, it was excellent! So many peices to see! I was awestruck by the beautiful pieces, the music, it was a trip to the times we know so little about. It was very educational as to the history of the family and what he had accomplished. Definitely recommend!

Gena — Google review

I didn't realize how big this museum was. I was very interested in all they had on displayed. It took me a few hourscto go through. Loved the Dinosaur experience.

Robyn Harrington — Google review

We have been here a few times. This time we were there with a school trip to see the "under the canopy" traveling exhibit. My daughter age 10 & 3 had a lot of fun seeing the different reptiles and the sloth! There is even a small live animal show that happens three times a day, we attended the 11am one and my youngest was super excited to get to pet a snake.

Chalyse Padigimus — Google review

So much to see and learn here! We went while the dinosaur exhibits were going on as well. The curators were easy to approach and helped us navigate because this place is misleadingly huge! We enjoyed the interactive stuff they had and found there was a lot of variety in the exhibits. We walked around for an hour and still didn't have time to see everything!

Taylor Hall — Google review

A really nice museum with different sections.Depends on your pace, checking everything should take about 1-2 hours. There are some nice spots for kids to play and learn.Entrance for non-Idaho residents is $14, a bit expensive in comparison with some other similar museum I visited in US, but it's not terrible.Parking is behind the building and it is quite small, partially shared with church next to the museum, but it's free.

Michał Pomorski — Google review

The museum was very, very wellLaid out. I loved it very nice staff onHand to answer any questions. It is a MUST SEE..Younger children will love the Dinosaur exhibit...(ok and us adults as well)😊A true professional museum..There is plenty to study , look at.

Very nice museum with interesting history of the State. They had a special exhibit on dinosaurs of the ocean which was very cool. So many enormous sea creatures from that time that don't get much fanfare but were so impressive!

The Best part of the whole museum was the SLOTH 🦥.. it had a salad for lunch, an crawled across his rope to his den.. it was cute!! They had some real cool spider exhibits, snakes, lizards.. just fun!! ☺️

Beautiful scenic river walk. It was nice and breezy. There are electric scooters to rent but just be careful because you don't know how much you are really charged until you're done. Otherwise it is an amazing experience.

Wow!! What an amazing area. It is really something to see. How they have the Snake River spilling over into a variety of waterfalls. Just one of the neatest things I've seen on my travels. Great area to walk, eat, shop or just come to read a book. I even saw someone fishing. Just beautiful. I would say it's a must see.

Roberta Peek — Google review

Enjoyed the river walk immensely. Saw both at night and in the morning. Trails are well maintained with plenty of seating and unique benches.

Beautiful park along Snake River in Idaho Falls not far from the airport with hotels nearby. You can stroll along the river with very beautiful of not only the river but the natural and artificial falls on it. In the background you see the towering The Latter Days Saints Temple (Mormon temple).

What a lovely park and a well designed waterfall/dam. Came through for lunch because we were on a waterfall siteseeing trip. So glad we stopped. The flowers, the river walk. Just a well designed and peaceful park.

The green belt is wonderful. It’s very peaceful. I only wish it were longer and that people would do a better job cleaning up after their dogs.

Fantastic trail to explore the town, watch the birds, and listen to the sound of raging water. There are several hidden gems along the way such as Friendship Garden. Be sure to check it out on your next trip to Yellowstone or Grand Teton National Park.

Made a quick stop as we were driving through Idaho Falls on a road trip. It was nice to get out and stretch our legs, with the added benefit of it being very scenic.

Matt Lang — Google review

Very nice park along Snake River and the water falls, that gave the town its current name. Prior to 1891, the town's name was Eagle Rock.Parking is possible anywhere along the road parallel to the river. The park gives pedestrians the chance to walk a few steps, to look at and to listen to the roar of the water falls. Along the walkway are different benches in interesting and funny shapes. My family and I really enjoyed the visit there.

Dietrich Starkmann — Google review

A lovely place for a walk or run in Idaho Falls. The River a Walk provides just enough of a taste of the outdoors while still having quick access to food trucks, fine dining, bars, and coffee shops in the downtown area. You can stop at one of the many fun artistic benches scattered along the walk as well as the War Memorial or some of the sculptures. It’s also a love place to visit on Saturdays from May through October beginning at 9 am for the local farmers’ market.

Kristin KW — Google review

We went to this place on the weekend morning and it wasn't crowded at all. Parking is easily available along the road. There is also one information center near that.We saw the artificial waterfall and it's beautiful however there was some foam or something floating in the corner.Overall a very nice park with some interesting statues

Dhvanil Patel — Google review

Best place to go for a walk though it does get dangerous at night though so make sure you either have a whistle or your SOS turned on to make sure emergency people and cops are alerted. I ended up meeting a man that got attacked near the green belt. He had cuts and bruises all over his body. It's not dangerous but just watch out for big groups of people or even in 2s or 3s. Stay safe if walking at night in the winter which is right now there is black ice on the side walk and on the walking strip even though Rick salt does get put down it can only do so much. To help. It can help just enough but with how cold it is its kinda useless. But still makes sense if they didn't put it down it probably be worse than what it is as of right now. In the summer it's gorgeous and in the falls it is extremely beautiful with the leaves falling and everything

Laina Thomson — Google review

We love walking the greenbelt! The landscaping is well done, the sidewalks are nice and wide to accommodate all and the river views are always amazing

Wildlife park

Zoos & Aquariums

Bear World is a wildlife park in Rexburg, Idaho, with opportunities to see bears in their natural habitat. The park features a drive-thru facility as well as petting zoo and kid's rides.

It's a neat place, most of the bears here are former actor/performance animals, or descendants of said bears, so they cannot be in the wild. Place offers a few different ways to see them as well. (Drive thru the park in your own vehicle, or use their truck to toss them food, as well as a small petting zoo for the kids.)

Jeremy Statz — Google review

Wow! Was this place cool or what. We went during the middle of the week and experienced great joy. It was not crowded and they allow you to go through unlimited times. We went through roughly eight times watching all of the bears and different animals. To be precise there are buffalo, whitetail deer, albino elk, elk, swan, grizzly bears, black bears, and moose. And that's just for the section of where you're driving. During our visit there were a lot of bears playing around. They also have a little section that you can go to and actually pet some animals. The animals that you're able to pet are goats, dear, different kinds of birds, and pigs. You can also feed bears during the season. They have an amazing little enclosure for Cubs. Overall the experience was incredible. I'm definitely going here again.

Brayden Workman — Google review

I personally like Bear World better than Yellowstone. I love to ride around and see the animals. The bears are so cute, but the cubs are the cutest!!! You can pay to.feed them. You pay right as you arrive and then you can choose to drive your own car or you can pay to ride in their truck and you're also able to.feed the bears. We did that the first time. The gift shop and kid park area are fun too. And then you can also choose to go to the back part and see more animals. You can also feed the ducks and fish. It is guaranteed fun time for everyone!

Tatiana Grant — Google review

Outstanding well kept secret we've told everybody about! 👏 For the most part, the staff is friendly! All around are clean facilities, structures, and habitats for the various animals! All the animals appeared to be well fed and cared for! Feeding the "baby bears" was definitely the highlight of the trip for us! BUT YOUR TICKETS IN ADVANCE! Very seldom can you show up and expect to feed the bears! The food was decent, and as you would expect, overpriced beyond belief! The "merchandise shop," on the other hand, was reasonably priced and quite affordable!

RedBullKC — Google review

Wow! We went during Cubpalooza last week. The kids loved it and want to go back again. They have amusem*nt rides that are included with admission. The bears were very active and the cubs were 100% adorable.

Scott Woodbury — Google review

The cost of the adventure was $25. It was worth every penny. It is especially wonderful for children I cannot imagine they must think when they see all these wild animals. I bet I saw 50 bears. The gift shop was well staffed and had a great assortment. The workers were delightful. I love the little petting zoo area and the rides. I also want to mention these animals are cared for very well!

Jill Sauls — Google review

Wow. The drive through the park with elk, deer, bison, and bears is fun for the whole family. Lots of photo opportunities with animals everywhere. The main area gift shop was affordable with a nice selection. The dinosaur area had a couple of "rideable" dinosaurs and was a unique experience for kids. Free amusem*nt park rides for the kids were also available with a decent selection and short lines. The petting zoo had deer, goats, birds, and a pig.My family paid for the bear bottle feeding and it was well worth the time and the money. Six bears under a year old who like nooking with their feeders and have large personalities for the tiny size of their bodies were amazing to feed and to pet. As with any babies, they had their opinions and different personalities from messy eaters, to inhalers. Such an incredible experience. Highly recommended.

Alison Wright — Google review

We had a great time driving through to see the bears and other animals. We were honestly surprised how many there were and how close to the car they got. Our hard to please teenagers really enjoyed it as well.

Jaimie Draper — Google review

I've gone a few times in different seasons, but it's still the same. The bathrooms are a mess and super dirty. The staff is pretty rude, and their merchandise barely ever is updated. but it was cool to look around at the cubs and drive through the wildlife. The dinosaur park in it has quite a few dinosaurs with some movement and sounds. We liked the chubby bears 🐻

Valerie Ellis — Google review

At first glance, the price seems really steep being $24 an adult but once you realize just how many animals are actually offered either to see (bison, elk, bears, moose etc.) or to pet at the petting zoo (deer, goats, pigs etc.) I soon understood why! This place was so cool driving in with all of the big bears, elk and bison! Not to mention the adorable petting zoo and amusem*nt park which is also built into the admission price! Also, their fudge in the giftshop? Delicious!!Absolutely worth a visit at least once! My family had a wonderful trip and we will be back! Thanks guys! Very impressed.

Heather Sharp — Google review

Lots of bears and other animals common to Yellowstone National Park. Plenty for kids to do too with a petting zoo, and amusem*nt rides all included with admission. You drive through the elk, bison, and bears. You can renter as much as you like but no stopping and no rolling down your windows. A great place to spend 2-3 hours. Food is available to purchase or bring your own—plenty of picnic tables. Good value!

Ty Lagerberg — Google review

Driving portion to see roaming animals takes about 30 minutes. So a variety of brown bears, black bears, deer, and bison. Entrance to the park also includes entrance to the dinosaur world, small theme park rides, and petting zoo. We spent about 1.5 hrs total in the park, but could have spent double that if your kids are big on doing the rides. Overall a good experience with the family.

Tristan Rodeback — Google review

The new dinosaur area is really fun. My kids liked the Dino rides. 2 of the 5 rides were broken when we visited, so it was a little disappointing. But the rides are nice for a wide range of ages. I wanted to ask why the petting zoo is so sparce on animals but didn't see an employee near there to ask. The info center on the different animals is great. The deer look so thin and mangey. The way the road winds through the park gives visitors plenty of angles to see the animals.

Heidi Leigh — Google review

We attended as a homeschool field trip. The drive through to see the bears was exciting for my girls (10&3). The petting area was fun with little piglets and momma, deer and goats. The girls had fun feeding them and also the fish and ducks in the river. We got there at feeding time and it was so cute to watch the baby bear cubs drinking their bottles. You can pay extra to feed the bear cubs, but we didn't do this. The new dinosaur exhibit was neat with life-sized animatronic dinos to see and even a few of the little coin ride kind. The small carnival rides we did last were fun and the girls left happy for the day out.

Chalyse Padigimus — Google review

Amazing place. Great opportunity to see some majestic wildlife up close! You can take as many laps in your car as you want, that will take you right by bison, dear and a TON of bears. There is also a petting zoo with deer, goats, ducks etc. A few rides for the kids and a dinosaur place under construction for 2024.IF YOU'RE GOING ALL THE WAY OUT HERE -- spoil yourself and cough up the extra $75 to feed the baby bears. You'll remember that for the rest of your life!!!This place actually made my mum-in-law cry out of sheer joy over all the beautiful animals and getting to bottle feed the cubs.

Nate C W — Google review

We went here on a whim because we were headed in this direction and had an extra hour to do something. Was a great way to see the wildlife up close! Bears, white elk, deer, and bison. The bear cubs were playful and fun to watch. The new dinosaur exhibit was much better than I expected for such a remote place. Fun rides here for little kids (6 and under).

M. B. — Google review

Bear World is always a fun place to visit. I went with my husband and four children. We all enjoyed the animals, petting zoo, rides, and especially Jurassic Creek. My 5-year old froze for a minute when he saw the T-Rex and wasn't so sure about it, it looked so real to him. It was fun to see the dinosaurs and learn more about them.

Adrianne Elliott — Google review

It was a great visit. Animals were all around and petting zoo was a hit with the kids. Animals loved the attention from the kids. Rides was in great condition and the new Dinosaur exhibit was brilliant. Loved every minute of it.

Teton Pass is a mountain pass located in the Teton Range that connects Jackson Hole valley and Teton Valley. The summit offers three semi-truck parking spaces, which may vary according to snow conditions on the eastbound side. It is advisable to avoid driving travel trailers over this pass due to its challenging terrain, and instead detour through Palisades/Alpine, which adds about 20 miles of extra driving but ensures safety.

This is the steepest most dangerous highway in the country. Do not attempt this road if your brakes or transmission need any sort of maintenance. In the winter be extra cautious. If you’re driving a camper or an oversiz d vehicle perhaps try not. If you’re pulling a trailer go around. Truckers jackknife multiple times every year sometimes more than once a day

We were staying in Wilson, Wyoming and decided to make a drive up to the Idaho border since we were so close. Beautiful drive and scenery.

Rick Volavka — Google review

Horrendously Steep and iconically beautiful. Extremely dangerous and unforgettable. A great place to go if you have a little bravery. It really is a mountain pass..

Jake Zohner — Google review

There are 3 semi-truck parking spaces at the top, depending on snow conditions (eastbound). Not sure I'd blindly follow google maps and pull a travel trailer over it again - best to drive the extra 20 miles (from Idaho Falls) and detour through Palisades/Alpine - is also how we returned. We followed a loaded dump truck into Wilson who's brakes were smoking - I bet he messed his pants. The view at the top is spectacular. I tip my hat to iron-man bike riders who make the climb while sucking vehicle exhaust and dodging cars driven by Indy/F1 wanna be's. Video is of my 2002 5.4l F150 pulling a 23ft TT (~5500lbs), turning ~6000rpm.

This is our second visit over several years - just as impressed this time around but now they have upgraded (beautiful!) facilities. On both occasions, the raptor expert who gave the talk and handled the animals was incredible - so passionate, friendly, funny, and most importantly- highly informed and handled questions with ease and grace. We recommend this place to everyone - a great organization and happy to contribute the small admission fee. Kids of all ages will enjoy this - as did my elderly parents. Go!

Beautiful facility, attended a presentation about the work done at the facility and in the area where 2 "ambassadors" who are debilitated such that they cannot be released were presented and discussed. Outstanding for children of grade school and higher. The presenters responded to questions from the children attending the presentation I attended thoroughly and respectfully.

We enjoyed a fabulous meal at one of Teton Valley Lodges private events. The staff was extremely friendly and the chef treated us to a phenomenal 3 course dinner. If you get the chance to participate in one of these events I would highly recommend it!

I had the fishing trip of my life last week. My guide, Harrison, was very helpful and new exactly where to find the fish. I caught seven brown trout between 17-20 inches, plus a lot of smaller fish. I can hardly express my excitement.

Great stay with modern room design, large tv and fantastic and friendly host Brenda! Be it skiing at Grand Targhee, hiking around the Tetons or fly-fishing Teton Creek, this is a great place to stay!

Patrick Flood — Google review

Our family had the best time here. The fishing and guides were top notch, the hospitality was second to none, and the property was beautiful. We are definitely coming back!

The guys fly by my house every night and I would not recommend anyone do busines with these people. They don’t care if you got kids playing in the yard. They drive so fast by our place every night.

We booked a full day guided trip for our honeymoon, and it was amazing! Our guide, David, was such a hard worker and one of the most personable guides I've ever worked with. He had us on fish all day when the weather was not ideal, and made sure my wife and I had a great time. We hope to be back!

Jeremy McGee — Google review

Great experience, fishing and views along the Teton River and Snake River. Thanks Jamie for helping me land some nice trout.

Second year coming to TVL and had an amazing time once again. Every aspect of the experience is amazing. Great fishing, great food, great guides, and great accommodation.

Ryan McGee — Google review

Did a day trip on the South Fork of the Snake River. Our guide, Jacob, rowed his face off through high wind and hard, hard rain to get us into fish. And, boy oh boy, did he ever get us into fish! He rowed us into sneaky spots other guides blasted right by or just barely covered at all. And then he would row us back upstream to hit he same holes over and over until the fish stopped hitting. Some on streamers. Some on dry dropper. We did this all day boating about 40 fish. I lost count, honestly. More than a few worthy of a photo.I can't say you'll catch that many. But it won't be for lack of effort from your guide. If all the guides at Teton Valley Lodge work this hard, you are in damn good hands.

Ely Wilkinson — Google review

Outstanding in every respect. Great accommodations, gourmet dining, the best guides we've ever fished with and a staff that anticipates your needs. Seems spendy but really a good value for the total high level experience. We're average fly fishers and we landed more fish than with any guide service on the Henry's Fork or Madison. Most of the guests we visited with have been coming back here for many years. Our first stay here and we understand why. That is the Tetons in the background, the views are breathtaking.

The owners of the lodge and guide company are amazing people. Everyone from the owners to the staff are positive, hard working, and just overall make sure that you have a wonderful experience. I did not stay at the lodge but we used the guided fishing outfit for a group of 20. The food we had at the lodge was very good. What a great a great trip! Highly recommend A+++Thank you, Marcus

Wonderful staff. Amazing food, great views, knowledgeable and friendly guides. You don't need to know how to fly fish. You will catch many beautiful trout of varying types as well as other fun native species. My wife had never fly fished in her life and really enjoyed herself over three nights and two days at the lodge. The cabins are large and comfortable. Water pressure was great haha. There are cute puppies running around. The staff takes care to get to know you. Our first guide helped me improve my dry fly presentation and I was amazed as trout rose to sip my fly on top water. I won't spoil the other wonderful surprises in store. Our second guide taught us casting techniques for a heavier rig on a larger river to target the fatties. My wife out fished me again catching native cutthroats, cutbows, rainbows and browns. We saw moose and baldies and enjoyed over-stuffed lunch boxes on the river at scenic locations. The guides went above and beyond to make the experience the best ever. I would 100% recommend this place to new and experienced anglers.

Nature & Parks

Grand Targhee Resort, located near Alta and 42 miles away from Jackson, is a ski resort that offers slopeside rooms and suites with four restaurants, a spa, a heated outdoor pool, and guided snowshoe tours. The ski area covers 2,602 skiable acres with five lifts for intermediate riding. The resort has an off-piste atmosphere with fresh powder caches readily available.

We had a great time at Grand Targhee. We were there on a weekend after three days at Jackson Hole. The parking lot was full on the Saturday but there were no real crowds on the hill except for a few lift lines here and there. Sunday was much quieter. We arrived at 830am and got parking right up front. Beautiful place with great terrain. It was a really nice change of pace from Jackson Hole which definitely feels like the "big city" of skiing by comparison. I can't wait to get back on a powder day. The next time I come I will bring my XC gear too as the track looks phenomenal from up above on the hill.

Dave Bennett — Google review

This place was EXCELLENT. The vibe, the mountain, the terrain, the difficulty, the friendliness, everything about this resort was wonderful. I even enjoyed the fog that rolled in and covered the peak for some time. I love to snowboard in that. It was such an adventure being here at Targhee. The terrain park was off the charts with its combination of rails and kickers. Our family really enjoyed this place.

Spencer Lyman — Google review

I was there September of 2022, I played the disc golf course, it was great! Its a really beautiful part of the country! The Tetons are amazing! I'd sure love to work there for the ski season.

Andre Goloskewitsch — Google review

Huge fan of this ski resort. We live in Idaho Falls. It is for sure the best resort near us. I was especially impressed with the variety of the “bunny hill” at Targhee. They gave great facilities for beginners. I have two daughters who started skiing this year. I surprised how much fun my 8 year old and I had doing the small hill for an entire afternoon. They also offer adaptive ski lessons which makes my so happy. My daughter with Down syndrome started this year. The staff is so patient with her and excited for her to have a chance to ski. My older boys and husband are advanced skiers/snow boarders. There is plenty to keep them entertained all day. I also love the patio area + fires. Such a fun environment! Targhee was a great place for our whole family.

Brooke BB — Google review

Honestly one of my favorite 'off the map' resorts. Always a great place to grab some powder caches, friendly staff with a mom and pop feel. They do have a hotel at the mountain if that is your fancy. Prices are resonable and planning on some serious upgrades over the 2023 winter!

Joe Klump — Google review

This 5 star review is for Ben the ski instructor/ supervisor! This was our first time skiing with our kids! He came up and helped us all get the hang of it just out of pure kindness ! The next day my son was asking about him because he was so sweet and patient when teaching him! Thanks Ben for making our trip unforgettable!

Shelby York — Google review

Literally the only things wrong with this place are the rooms are outdated (but very clean and taken care of) and the food prices are prime resort high. Otherwise we loved our stay and would definitely come back.

Graham Myers — Google review

Ok so the bar is amazing very nice people. We came up on sunday the 6th of August got about 3 runs on the little lift and one to the top then they closed the lift because of rain and that is completely understandable. At about 2:45pm the sun came out and it was cleared up. about 12 of us just waited asuming the lift would be opened again because the lift closes at 5. I spent 150.00 for 4 runs....

mike fernandez — Google review

Bought a lift ticket and it turns out the main lift was closed. Got to the top of the Shoshone lift and the employees were cheering because they were closing that lift as well. I wish they would have told me the lifts were closed. Shortest $65 ride of all time

We stayed here during late June and it was lovely! Waking up to cool mornings and crisp mountain air was perfect. The rooms were nice and the beds were very comfortable!! Even in the summer, there is a lot to do. I would highly recommend staying here.

Abigail Wilt — Google review

I took the shuttle from Jackson Hole that picked me up in Teton Village and took me to the Grand Targhee ski resort. The runs were half groomed, half left powdery so you could go on one run and switch between powder and groomed, it was so much fun. The views were out of control, beautiful, and, you can see the grand Tetons and the valley below. My favorite run was shadow woman and I had an excellent time and would highly recommend anyone to visit.

We had a Bluebird day on 2/17/24 and a snowy day on 2/18/24. Both days were great in different ways. We will definitely be going back. Varied terrain for all different levels of skiers. On the clear day I had to remember I was skiing and not just look around in awe at the views.

Aari Evert — Google review

This place is wonderful. Huge skiing area for beginners that offers enough challenges to keep it interesting for the kids all day long but you can trust them to go off on their own and be fine. All the lift operators were friendly and helpful when needed. The beginner lift had a party vibe and it was easy to get to. We visited on weekdays in February 2024 and got there 30-60 minutes before they opened. It was easy to find parking and the line to buy tickets was short and painless.

Austin B — Google review

The Grand Targhee Resort provided the perfect place for our guys trip this year. The accommodations were simple & clean with comfortable beds and worked well with our group. If we had a wish list a kitchenette and better Wi-Fi (worked fine Sunday and Monday, but terrible otherwise) would have been included, but otherwise everything was covered. Plan for little to no cell service. The skiing was first class with decent vert and lots of terrain. Even with heavy fog on top you can escape to a lower lift. This place would be incredible on a powder day! A highlight for our group was the excellent food, service and drinks we received at the Branding Iron. A special thanks to our favorite bartender Evan and her team for making every effort to ensure our experience was a great one! We will be back.

Adam Hutchings — Google review

This place never disappoints. My family loves our time spent on the mountain. We have always stayed in the teewinot lodge. They have started doing some remodeling in some of the rooms. Which is nice, except there is no drawers to store your stuff or hooks to hang your stuff between runs and at night. Hopefully they are just not done and will be adding these necessary items in the future

Tyson Horne — Google review

I love targhee. There are so many places to ski for everyone. The kids area is great and has good places to teach people how to ski. The cliffs are nice and there are cool places to explore in the trees. Hiking Mary's was fun and a quick hike to get to some great powder snow. Don't duck the fences because you might die, the cliffs have big drops. Sometimes it's a bit cloudy and foggy. Also the people that work at the ski lifts are nice.

DO NOT BOOK HERE!!!!I booked via United Airlines during checkout for a flight to Jackson Hole Airport. United claimed this hotel is 14 miles from the airport and Grand Teton National Park. Only after booking do they give you the real location which is a 1 hour and 45 minute drive away. Once they gave me the real location, I immediately cancelled. However, they have the audacity to claim this is 'non-refundable'. Total bait and switch lies. Do not give this lying business your money.

We did a tour of Bike parks at Ski resorts. Grand Targhee was by far our fav. Chill place with great staff. I really liked the demo bikes for the Mountain Bike Park. Rental Dept was really helpful.

robert tilley — Google review

We didn't stay at the resort just snowboarded on the mountain and it was incredible!! It was early season but had snowed almost 2 feet the day before so conditions were perfect. Everything from easy to super hard. No lift lines. Nice restaurant for lunch. Highly recommend checking it out.

Dan Greene — Google review

100% will return here again. The lift lines were short even for a powder day, and the crowds were very well managed. I especially appreciated the free shuttle up and down the mountain. The guys in the rental shop were very helpful and professional.

Holly Murray — Google review

Great view, steep skiing, and little to no lift lines. Definitely my new favorite ski resort. Far better than Jackson Hole ,especially for the price!

Tyler Delaney — Google review

First time here on presidents Day 2024, used to skiing little cottonwood in Utah. First impression of the base was other worldly with the wood burning. This place was great, ski on, no lines all day, no parking issues, the kids all loved it, and there was challenging terrain for Dad and the older kids too! grooming was great and there were still powder shots at 2pm without knowing where to go.And on mountain Day care for the younger kids and they loved that too!Well be back next year!

Christopher Ault — Google review

Very affordable and kid-friendly resort. We are novice snowboarders from Texas. I hesitated the drive from Jackson Hole due to snowy road conditions but glad that we visited. The last mile leading to the resort was difficult to drive, however, all the cars were cautiously slow. One recommendation is improving customer service in ski/snowboard rental. Staff fitted our 5 y.o. child in size 3 kid, 4 sizes bigger than what we requested and gave him the board that was too long for his size. It was Easter Sunday so staff was probably distracted. Nonetheless, it was a great experience.

Tammy Pham — Google review

One of my favorite ski resorts. It's locally owned and operated, still affordable in 2024 with much less crowds compared to nearby big name ski resorts. Their ski school is one of the best because there is an entire beginner area with dedicated lifts for people taking ski/snowboarding lessons.

Steven P — Google review

Loved the resort but I had an emergency that I had to return home and I had purchased a two day pass @ $135 per day for a total $270. I got to the resort on day two and explained my issue and asked to get a refund for the unused day. I was told that I skied to much the first day and that it was a bundled ticket and there are zero refunds. I asked to speak to a supervisor but was told she was sick.

Mark Dvorak — Google review

No electric car charging and proud of it. We called ahead, sadly after making our resort hotel reservation, to learn there were no car charging facilities at all on the mountain. We lost the full cost of a day/night hotel stay. No refunds if you cancel less than two weeks prior to the reservation date. The manager said, “I tow EVs down the mountain all the time, it’s the Rockies, why would anyone ever consider driving there in an electric car? Thanks very much, have a nice day”. Argh

My sister and I had the most memorable trail ride with Kevin in early June! Deb and Kevin run a wonderful outfitter in Idaho. Deb was very helpful with all my questions prior to my trip. I’ve been riding horses my whole life and this was an amazing experience. Kevin was so friendly and helpful when guiding us through aspen forests, canyons and creeks. Kevin and Deb’s Morgan horses are truly remarkable! Being around horses my whole life, I’ve never met such amazing trail horses who are well-trained, sure-footed and trustworthy, especially when crossing creeks and climbing through canyons. I will always recommend Dry Ridge Outfitters!

Wow! Great company. Genuine professionals amazing experience. My wife and I spent 5 days riding with Deb and Kevin Little during July 2022. After day one , we were making plans to return for more adventures with them. The trails were beautiful, the views indescribable, the Morgan horses very capable, and the people we met in our small group of riders made it so much fun. Highly recommend them. Side note: It rained for 15 minutes on our last day and I got to wear my rain gear and take a pic with Deb. It’s one of my favorite pics from the trip.

We took two extended day rides in the tetons with dryridge. Great experience with knowledgeable horse folk. The horses are outstanding and sure footed. Just want to give an extra shout-out to our guide on the second day, Jordan. He was the best!

We recently went for a ride with Dry Ridge Outfitters. We had the best time! I could not be happier with the ride. My son had a blast and did not want the ride to end. He already wants to go back(me too! 😜) Amanda and Kristi were great! They made the ride so fun! Deb made sure everything went smoothly from the time I contacted her about a ride months before all the way up until a few days after. I would recommend Dry Ridge Outfitters to anyone wanting to have a great riding experience. Thank y’all so much!

Wonderful time!! We rode 4 days in a row! Met wonderful people. Deb and Kevin were so professional and hospitable! The scenery and rides were amazing! Thanks to Jordan and Amanda for their graciousness!!

We had a fantastic day ride with Kevin, a 5th generation native to this beautiful area. He regaled us with stories and local knowledge. Plus, he took us on the most beautiful, scenic ride, making sure we saw sights we had not seen while hiking. Deb was terrific communicating with all our arrangements. My 3 daughters and I had a perfect day trip (and made it home before the thunderstorms!)

We recently returned from a five day Yellowstone pack trip. I would say it was a trip of a lifetime but I am definitely going back!! The friendliest, most patient, and entertaining staff. We were truly blessed to see parts of the Yellowstone not seen by many. Beautiful back country, waterfalls, landscapes and night skies. The horses were amazing, patient, gentle and well suited for different levels. The food was superb. Kevin, Debbie, Greg and Lacey were the best. They did everything to make sure everyone had a great time. I would say don't miss this trip but please don't take my spot!!!

Went with a group of twelve on a four hour ride, all of us beginners. We had an amazing time. The guides gave clear instruction, helped us all along the way, and were great company. The first two hours we rode to a clearing with a views of the Tetons and had a picnic. The views were beautiful as there were wildflowers & peaks of the Tetons showing. The last two hours of the trip went by quickly as we had gained more experience. The trail included creeks, clearings, and canyons. Overall, this was a great trip and would recommend to anyone wanting to experience a scenic trail via horseback.

What a blast! If you are looking to take a day trip adventure on horseback in the beautiful mountains, do not look any further. This was such a memorable experience with my family. Deb and Kevin were professional, knowledgeable, kind, and patient with these city slickers. The horses were sure footed and gentle as we traversed through lush trails and opening up to an amazing vista. I would highly recommend and definitely plan to book again when we come back. Thank you Deb and Kevin! The best!

Bridget Day — Google review

My family and I had a wonderful time horseback riding with Dry Ridge Outfitters. They we’re able to book us last minute and took us on a beautiful ride into the mountains. Highly recommend!

Valerie Pitalo — Google review

The 5-day pack trip to Tetons was fantastic! Deb and Kevin are warm and friendly. They are patient with the young and the old (our group was aged 13 to 70) , the experienced and the complete novice. The mountainsare breathtakingly beautiful. The horses were sure footed and forgiving. Boone the wonder dog was friendly and loving and everyone wanted to take the Australian shepherd home. I would use Dry Ridge outfitters again and again. Saddle bags nicely hold trail gear, like water bottles, binoculars, or a trail snack. There is much to do when getting ready in the morning or after a ride, but people can do as little or much as they are comfortable with. Everyone in our group gladly helped groom and saddle with particular care for their own horsefor the week. Bring a pair of work gloves getting the horses ready, they are not needed for riding. The cooking was great, and it was nice not having to worry about helping with that task, Greg was a terrific camp cook for our trip -- master of the dutch oven. Our trip was in mid Augustand the fields were covered in blooming wildflowersand virtually no bugs!

The scenic viewpoint of Inspiration Point can be reached by a 2.2-mile uphill hike or boat ride across Jenny Lake. Visitors can follow the nearby trails to Hidden Falls and Lake Solitude, which provides an alternate view of the Cascade Canyon area. The busy site also offers a panoramic view of Grand Canyon Yellowstone with some steps leading down to it. The lookout was renovated in 2018 after being affected by the canyon's erosion over time.

Inspiration Point was probably our favorite stop in Grand Teton National Park. Access Inspiration Point by taking a boat across Jenny Lake (there's no charge for this boat ride.) Once across the lake, there is a trail easily marked leading you to Inspiration Point. Believe me, you have to be in good shape too make this leg of the trip, but it is well worth it. The trail app on my phone told me that we gained nearly 400 ft in the elevation during the short hike. Don't let this discourage you .. my wife and I are 69 years old and we did it with very little effort. Once at the top you will see panoramic views of Jenny Lake and the surrounding area. Absolutely stunning, and I would recommend this to anyone who feels they're able.

Robert Kramer — Google review

My husband and I snowshoed all the way to Hidden Falls and Inspiration Point yesterday. Unfortunately, because the snow covered most of the trails and we came out on the first day it opened, we were unable to find the Jenny Lake Trailhead from the South entrance that hugs the left side of the lake. Instead we took the trail that looks like the black dotted line more on the left on the AllTrails map (the Western leg of the Hidden Falls loop trail). We followed the tracks of other snowshoes. It takes you up the mountain to incredible views of the lake along the way. Just be aware that at one point, you’re essentially walking across a double black diamond slope over 3-4 feet of snow. After seeing the falls and Inspiration Point, we tried to find the trail that hugs the lake on our way back South (we decided not the do the whole loop around Jenny Lake since it was going to rain), but found bear tracks and decided to turn around and go back the same way we came from. It was difficult to hike this with snowshoes, so it would be incredibly challenging to attempt this without at this time. The bridges that cross the river were also covered in 4 feet of snow.

Christine L. — Google review

An wonderful, magical place to visit. Lives up to the name of inspiration point. We just went to the lake lookout because it was heavily raining that day. The fog just made it even more beautiful to the eyes. Wonderful place to take pictures and have fun. Plenty of green was there as well.Mesmerizing view of the lake, cloud and mountain were making a perfect ingredient for the ‘INSPARATION POINT’. This place is little off the regular hiking trail however should eb a must visit if you are the nature lover. There might be wild life there as well, however as it was raining, so we were not that lucky. The lake shore is around 100 feet away from parking spot, no hike or trail required. The roads towards the inspiration point is narrow and one lane, please be careful of driving just like any other point. If you are on wheelchair , it is accessible however lots of loose gravels , be careful. It could be a good picnic spot if you have your lunch packed and enjoy the lake front.Interestingly this place is just back of the lodge where you can probably access through the lodge , having a rest room as well and a restaurant.

Koushik Mukherjee — Google review

The view here is spectacular! Well worth the boat ride and short hike. Get there as early as you can to beat the crowd.

John — Google review

Inspiration point hike combined with the Hidden falls hike is a must do thing inside the Grand Tetons national park. For the trailhead you need to travel by car to the Jenny lake visitor center inside the park. This lake is so calm and has a pristine blue color especially early in the morning thats instantly relaxing. From here there are two options. You can take a boat shuttle to the other end of the lake and start the hike or else take a trail around the lake ( which adds an additional 3 miles to your total hike) to reach the same point at the other end of the lake. We reached before the first boat service started for the day and so we chose to take the trail to reach the diametrically opposite side of the lake from the visitor center. This portion of the trail is fairly flat and easy. Once you reach the other end of the lake, we went along the trail that took us to the Inspiration point where you can get beautiful panoramic views of the Tetons ranges behind you as well as the Jenny lake in front. There are nice spots to sit and relax here as well. We continued further where the trail takes you deep into the Teton ranges. This was really gorgeous and I really enjoyed it. The trail to the Inspiration point is moderately difficult especially because it gets narrow in certain sections and also because it has steps quick forces you to lift your legs for each stride. Also there are switchbacks which combined with the steps can easily make one tired. However there can be mild breezes that blow your way which is very refreshing. On the way back we went to the hidden falls which was beautiful and the water was the right temperature ( not too cold not too hot). After the hike, we took the ferry back ( there is option to just take one way ticket for the ferry) to the visitor center. Once you get out of the Jenny lake visitor center, it joins a scenic drive loop road around the park where you can get majestic views of the Grand Tetons ranges. The two places we stopped to get the best photographs were the mountain lookout and the cascade look out. Be careful inside the parks and also on the hikes since this is bear nation and you are most likely to find them especially if you are hiking early in the morning.

Balaji G. — Google review

We took the boat ride over, hiked to hidden falls then up the inspiration points then to cascade canyon. The hike is beautiful and I would rate it easy-moderate, not much shade so wear a hat and lots of sunscreen! We came mid day and it wasn’t too crowded.

Grace Li — Google review

I would not qualify this as a challenging hike as others have posted, but your personal fitness will affect your ability to do this hike. It is rocky and requires stable footwear with a cushioned footed. The crowds are insane. Just hike it already as the ferry line gets backed up quick and by the time you rode across, you could have been there and nearly back again. We hiked the entire Lake Trail before coming up here and continuing on to Cascade Canyon. This was a scenic view. Good, and worth the effort if you're here. The views in Cascade Canyon are even better though, so push on if you are able.

Jim H — Google review

One of the easiest and shortest trails in Grand Teton for a great payoff. It's just a short mile hike from the boat dock on Jenny Lake to get up to the point. It is very well groomed bit the last quarter mile does get a bit tougher and does step up in elevation. Whether you hike around Jenny Lake or take the boat across it is definitely worth it.

Nick Doriot — Google review

Stunning views. You’ll think you’ve gone to the top - you haven’t. Once you go to the rock staircase you’ll see a sign for inspiration point. It’s definitely worth it. We saw a mama moose and her baby!

Sarah Speake — Google review

This is a moderate hike, a lot of up hill and at some point a smaller set of staircase towards the end that is fairly close to the cliff. So if you are afraid of heights this may not be for you. There are about 2x you may think you reached the top that still has nice views of the lake.It is so satisfying to reach the top so go for it!

Upper Mesa Falls is a beautiful 10-story waterfall located along the Snake River in West Yellowstone, Wyoming. The trailhead and viewing platform are easy to find, and the falls are well maintained with visitor center.

Such a wonderful and easy hike for families, plus the waterfalls! The boardwalk was well maintained and we easily walked out with 2 kids.

Do amazing only 10$ per car for the whole day and they had some trails that gets you access to both the upper and lower. They had a very nice gift shop and a penny press. The falls were amazing. Very nice view area

Karen Reviewz — Google review

We live so close (Rexburg) that I can't believe we haven't been up here before. Although seeing it in fall colors made for a heck of a first impression. I've been posting photos on social media from around Idaho this week, yet these photos of Mesa Falls seem to generate the biggest, most positive response. Maybe my out-of-state friends (like me, until this visit) didn't know such an impressive falls was here. The trail is easy, and I like both the accessible option and the stairs option. Whoever designed the observation points did a great job. and everything is maintained perfectly. We will definitely be bringing out of state visitors up here, now that we know how beautiful this place is. $5 per car, or our interagency annual pass got us in for free.

Great scenic drive and beautiful stop on our way to Jackson. The falls are accessed via a short trail and series of stairs and boardwalks.

Cost is 5 dollars to get in per car. Then a short walk down the board walk less than half a mile and you can see the falls you can continue on down the path and be right where the falls start

Great place to see an amazing water fall. Easy trail on a wood walking path.

Great view! Short hike that leads to an overlook that is nice too. Five dollar cash only parking is not a bad deal for view. The deck has fun info signs to read as well. Very accessible.

This is a gorgeous hike with great views of the falls. It was fairly easy for a family with young children and adults. There are stairs to get down to the various outlooks by the falls, and that could be difficult for some people. I highly recommend it. It was semi-busy since it was Independence Day. Take time to see the falls, the visitor center, and maybe even take food to eat at one of the picnic tables in the area. There is a small entrance fee ($5 per vehicle at the time of this posting).

Please stop by this waterfall if you have a chance. It is absolutely stunning. $10 fee to park but there are some trails you can hike. We parked in the lower lot and just walked to the falls so I can't speak to the other trails. Dog friendly and an easy walk to get there. The views are just incredible.

Very beautiful place. When we interacted with the park ranger here, she said the best time to visit this place would be around 10 am in the morning where we could see a beautiful rainbow near the falls 🌈. We missed it as we were not aware of it. But people who are visiting can make use of this opportunity.

IT IS NOT PLOWED IN THE WINTER! If you know that, you can make an informed decision. We didn't know that going in.In the winter, the road becomes a cross-country skiing and snowmobiling trail, not really fit for pedestrians. But we pulled it off. The walk was brutal because of how not walking-accessible it is. But the falls themselves were stunning and the walkways were sorta shoveled! Basically, don't walk it. But snow mobile or ski it and it's 100% worth it.

The upper falls is some of the most beautiful scenery you will experience. Very easy path to follow and dog friendly.
